message 107: by Mirta (new)

Mirta Trupp Hi everyone! My name is Mirta and I've written a memoir about a Jewish, Russian , Argentine, American immigrant. The back story is a bit unique; my father worked for Pan American Airlines- I wore out 5 passports before the age of twenty-two!

I always knew I had at least one good book in me. My unique background has been the ideal conversation opener on numerous occasions, including many awkward, social affairs, yet I never could get pen to paper… until the advent of a job promotion. Being the “new kid on the block,” I was once again, prompted to explain where I was from…you see, it’s my name- Mirta; the great ice-breaker. The series of questions that inevitably followed led me to explain how a “white girl with blue eyes” speaks Spanish, has Russian grandparents, and is Jewish. In between trying to settle down in a new office and adjust to new responsibilities, my co-workers pursued their line of questioning…Jews in South America? How did that happen? When they learned that my husband was from Argentina as well, they were enchanted by our long distance romance. One question led to another until one woman exclaimed, “You should write a book!” When, a few days later, she insisted that I review an article about self-publishing, my creative juices began flowing. And here it is:

With Love, The Argentina Family: Memories of Tango and Kugel; Mate with Knishes

Ray Martini | 3 comments Hello,

My name is Ray Martini, new author of "The Death of Leadership" which tells the story, by real life examples in my 47 years career, of how Political Correctness and CYA have replaced real leadership in business and government.

I would love for people to give me some honest feedback, since this is my first book.

It is available on Amazon, Kindle, Barnes & Noble and Nook.

Thank you very much,

Ray Martini

Hello Ray,

I'm new here myself, but when you say 'in the box' do you mean on your profile? You need to create an author profile and locate the book by it's ISBN/ASIN number - mine took a while to show up so I had to do it manually. After that you should see a 'add book/author' link on top of your posts, and it should appear. Have a look for 'setting up your goodreads author profile on google - you should find all you need. Hope this helps!

Cornelius Addison (addisonstales) | 1 comments Hello everyone,

I have released my first children's titles as ebooks and would like to hear what you all think of them. They are for children aged between 7-12. If you have an iPad, you can get the apps that contain fully animated scenes straight from the imagination of the characters as they sing. The sheet music can be found on Addisonstales.com, where you can find more characters who are patiently waiting for their story to be released. In late summer/autumn, the Addison's Tales digital book label will be launched with the help of app, audio book and print distributors - something that has taken nearly 6 years of work from many artistic people including musicians, animators, illustrators and a little old writer from the town of Calladin. So, if any of you have children in this age group, or are in this age group yourself, please take a look at my author's page and post a review of a book of your choosing so that when Wivern Digital, an indi digital publishing house producing Addison's Tales, officially announces the label later this year, people will be able to see a review of some titles around the net. You can even like the page to see how the 3D animation for the next approduction is coming along:

Many happy returns from the town of Calladin!

Charlotte | 1 comments Hello
My name is Charlie Caruso, I am from Australia. I have just co-written a book titled Understanding Y, which is currently available in Kindle Edition, (Paperback due in July). I would love to get involved in this group, possibly have my book reviewed by fellow book lovers, and also review other books.

Understanding Y is a book that sets the record straight. I was so sick of the media spin and hype about "how different/lazy/entitled Gen Y are" - I decided to do some research to better interpret these "misunderstandings". I'd love some honest feedback/thoughts

My name is Lola Smirnova. I've recently published my debut novel "Twisted" - http://www.amazon.com/Twisted-Lola-Sm... and would love to get some reviews. Please let me know if you're interested...

* * *
In the corrupt economy of post-Soviet Ukraine opportunities are scarce. Young and eager sisters – Natalia, Lena and Julia – harbor dreams of a better life. Naïve and tempted by the allure of ‘quick’ money, the girls set off on an adventure that changes their lives forever.
Can they stay out of trouble enough to fulfill their ambitions? Can they hold on to their idealism in a world where depravity and danger are constant companions? How far are they willing to go to make a buck?
TWISTED is a true life shaped into fiction story of vulnerability, courage and the art of making a living in the sex trade.

Thanks and best regards,
Lola :)

Janet Martinez (highlandlas) | 1 comments Hi everyone! I'm Jan and new to this group, new to Goodreads and a fairly new author. I have two books on Amazon "Drop Dead Killers" and "The Last Cowboy." "Cowboy" is a fictional biography about my great grandfather. I don't have enough info on him to make it a true biography. It's more a love story between him and his wife and certainly NOT a western. "Killers" is my newest novel and the only one on Goodreads. I'm currently working on a sequel to "Killers" and a fantasy about a teacher who acquires the ability to make her students behave. If there are any teachers out there, you know why I call it a fantasy!

I would really love to have reviews of "Killers" and am willing to reciprocate. I can provide a PDF version or you can get the book on Amazon, Smashwords, B&N as a paperback or an ebook. Please contact me at jan.martinez1953@gmail.com if anyone is interested in exchanging reviews. I usually read mysteries and thrillers, but also like historical fiction. I'm not interested in romance novels. Sorry.

Thanks!!

A.w. Caliburn (AWCaliburn) | 4 comments The Claims AdjusterHi ya'll! Let me say first that I LOVE to write. But, promotion of my book really is confusing. Wow. I have spent countless hours reading internet blogs and articles telling me how I can buy this and do that and even pay people to post Amazon reviews.

While I do realize that Amazon sales are driven by reviews, can anyone tell me of an honest and simple solution to paying for reviews?

I believe in my book, THE CLAIMS ADJUSTER, and I have received good reviews away from Amazon. But, alas, Amazon sells my book and their reviews make me $$.
