Yoni (yonifreedhoff) | 13 comments Hi folks,

I tried to do it myself, but I can't seem to figure out how - there are currently 5 different editions of my book The Diet Fix.

https://www.goodreads.com/work/editio...

Would love to see them combined. Versions now list ebook, 2 Hardcovers, 2 audio books and a Kindle.

Book's at the printers and final title/cover art consistent with this listing.

Also, still hoping you can delete the old version of this book which never got published as it will never be published:

Had sent that request through this group ages ago and didn't really follow the conversation that happened thereafter. All I know is the book doesn't and will never exist.

Thanks very much,
Yoni

They ones with the bright green cover are already combined. They all look valid. What do you think should be changed?

Sandra | 31559 comments Not sure you know what you are requesting Yoni. Your books are combined, that's why they show up on the other editions list on the book page.

As for deleting the not published books, you really need to contact support about that. It is not something that ordinary librarians are allowed to do.

Yoni (yonifreedhoff) | 13 comments Thanks very much. The reason I didn't think they were combined was because when I add them into Goodreads' Facebook widget the reviews and numbers following end up specific to the edition I added to the widget.

Guessing that's because the widget requires a specific ISBN number.

Will contact support regarding the other book

Thanks!

Yoni (yonifreedhoff) | 13 comments Hi again,

Really sorry to keep pestering.

Sent a message to support.

Asked them to delete the book Simon & Schuster's "Why Diets Fail and How to Make Yours Work" as it has been fully replaced by "The Diet Fix" and Random House.

Instead of deleting it, it seems to be combined with The Diet Fix now.

When I tried to separate it again, I was told only librarians could do so.

Thanks and wish I weren't such a pest on this,
Yoni

Yoni (yonifreedhoff) | 13 comments Book was never in print, and never will be. That's why I thought it ought to have been removed.

message 7: by Sandra (new)

Sandra | 31559 comments Yoni, did you specify to support that the book had never been published? That means that not even an ARC was distributed.

Once referred, only support can remove the book, librarians don't have that power.

message 8: by Yoni (new)

Yoni (yonifreedhoff) | 13 comments Yes Sandra, I did.

message 9: by Sandra (new)

Sandra | 31559 comments In that case I would politely ask for the reason.

message 10: by Yoni (new)

Yoni (yonifreedhoff) | 13 comments Can certainly try again.

message 11: by Banjomike (new)

Banjomike | 5166 comments It is likely that support haven't looked at your problem yet. The combining was not done by support.

Sandra is right that once something is referred to support no one in their right mind is going to touch it. We won't and you should just leave it as well. The librarian who did the combining might have been acting on instructions from support but I've not heard of that before. Usually support will reach a decision, act on it, and add notes to the effect that whatever-it-was mustn't be done again.

For completeness, this is the cache of the OLD page for "The Diet Fix" before the combining

Yoni (yonifreedhoff) | 13 comments Thanks!

I sent an extremely clear and polite follow up with a longer explanation (as clearly I wasn't able to explain well the first time), ISBN and ASIN numbers and hyperlinks.

My fingers are crossed.
