Dvw I am not sure if a person could pack more buzz words and fluff into a single book. The book lacks depth and analysis into the core issues and instead accepts the political right-wing idea that traditional values are “under attack” without any empirical evidence. While there is validity to the commercialization of Christmas the author is dismally out of touch with a typical reality. This may be because the author perpetuates the commercialization that she is commending. The author has multiple houses, luxury cars and hosts extravagant parties than turns around and complains how Christmas is being commercialized.

No thought is given to positive aspects of the commercialization, or penetration, of the Holiday as well. Surly this time of wishing people a “Merry Christmas” is an ideal time for discussions of faith, family and church. The penetration of Christmas into our society allows for conversations regarding faith that is nonexistent most other times of the year.

Worst of the entire book feels contrived and full of easy solutions.
