I am currently reading "A Pledge of Silence" by Flora J. Solomon. It is a story of Nurse in the South Pacific during WWII. I am only 1/3 of the way through it, but I am having trouble putting it down. Will update you later. :D
This one sounds really good Sandy! I'm kinda all over the place in different reads at the moment as I'm reading for a 2014 goal challenge. let me know your thoughts on A Pledge Of Silence when your done :)
Sandi, it is a fantastic book. I love the storyline and it keeps you reeled in the entire book. I can't believe the cruelty that was inflicted upon all of those POWs. This is a must read Sandi!
Yes it is. About finished with it, as I was reading it when a friend lent me "A Pledge of Silence". Since it was a Lend Me ebook, I needed to get it read. I will post when I move on to my next one. You know me, I am always reading a book. :D HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY EVERYONE!!!
Thanks for the recommendation of the Jennifer Blake book. I was able to get it free on Amazon. :D

Have fun! I couldn't finish that book..no way not my cuppa. Misfit was brave and I believe got through it:O

Sounds like a great read! I love reading WW II books...is it a true story?
Sandi, thanks so much for suggesting "The Vacant Chair" me. I just read it and loved it. I have also read recently an excellent series the Grayson Brother by Wendy Lindstrom, all set just post Civil War. There is 5 books so far and the are wonderful reads.
.

I also read
Love's Wine by Patricia Hagan. This is a wonderful author and I thoroughly enjoying reading here stories during this time period.

I am currently reading "True Colors" by Erin Rainwater.
. Wonderful story of a nurse during the Civil War that meets a Union Major that is attached to the War Dept. in the Intelligence area. They fall in love and are married in secret due a mission that major was about to go on. I am not a spoiler, so I won't divulge any other secrets about this storyline. Good book and worth the time. I actually got this one as free one on Amazon. Glad I am taking the time to read it. Just because Amazon gave away, isn't a clue that wouldn't be any good. If you read it, I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. :D

Your making my TBR pile bigger & bigger! I like the sound of this one too bad it isn't still free:(

I have all of these too Tracyk. Do you need to read them in order? Are the characters in all the other books?
Heather Graham is a fantastic author. She has also penned several books under the name of Shannon Drake. Those are a fantastic series by her TrackyK and Sandi.
I am currently reading "Fool's Gold" by Melissa Blue. This is the last of the Langston boys by her. Another great read by her.

Currently reading another series, 3 books by Tracie Peterson. It begins with a young woman that was about to be married and after much discussion between her and her best friend, they fled the church together and headed to TX. Lizzie Decker and Deborah Vandermark led you on a wonderful journey as they mark their mark on the world. There many twists and turns, but you will love every minute of this series. I have listed them in order.
Embers of Love
, Hearts Aglow
and Hope Rekindled
.
Enjoy!
Embers of Love

Enjoy!
I just finished "To Follow A Dream" by Elaine Stubbs.
During the time of the Civil War, women were expected to stay home, get married and have children. Daisy Jane Allen has other ideas. She wants to be a nurse and use her gift of healing. With the very reluctant approval of her well-to-do father, she studies medicine under Doctor Robert Lawrence. Love blooms between student and instructor though neither are aware of the other's feelings. The Civil War rages and the Union needs doctors. Duty calls and Robert signs up. When he tells Daisy he is going to war, he shocks her by also proposing marriage and asks her to accompany him as his nurse and wife. The newlyweds meet up with a Union militia unit and soon find themselves combating hunger, death, the heartbreak of war and the myriad of battlefield diseases.
Interesting and enjoyable storyline however, there happens to be a ton and I mean a ton to typos, and missing sentences so it was hard to follow some times. If these were fixed, I might get it a higher rating. At this time I give this one 2 stars.

What a shame that something like that can spoil what may have otherwise been a good book.

I've only read one book by her, it was just ok. Not sure if I would try another or not.

Currently reading "Jason's Angel" by Cheryl Pierson.
. This is the synopsis of the book. I will give my thoughts later.
Two wounded Union soldiers will die without proper treatment. Sabrina Patrick realizes they won't get it at the Confederate army hospital where she helps nurse the wounded men. She does the unthinkable and takes them to her home.
Jason McCain’s pain is eased by the feel of clean sheets, a soft bed, and a touch that surely must belong to an angel. But what reason could an angel have for bringing him and his brother here?

I'm reading Spanish Serenade by Jennifer Blake. So far (40% in) very good. Note: several JB titles are $.99 on Amazon today.
Just finished a series that is fabulous by Tracie Peterson. It begins with a young woman during the civil war in Missouri. Her journey leads her to go west with her family to escape all the bloodshed. She endures many, many struggles and heartbreaks. Excellent storyline. When I read one, if there is others in a series, I have to finish the series.
