My wife got this for me, I guess he is a local author. Has anyone read it before?

This has got to be the worst written Sci-Fi book ever. It was disjointed, sloppy and it didn't have an ending, it just stopped, someone should find this guy and smash his hands into pulp so nobody ever has to suffer through his "work" again. I don't know how it was ever even considered for the quill award.
