ABANDONED. Invention of mind-reading device

I'm looking for a book that I only caught the synopsis for but not the author or title.

In the story, a device was invented that revealed everything a person thought. Society changed because it simply wasn't possible to keep secrets from anyone. I've been looking for this book for quiet some time. Any help is appreciated!
