colleen the convivial curmudgeon (blackrose13) | 2976 comments Don't be a douchebag and don't Spam. If you are douchey or spammy, you will be kickbanned.

For authors, we have a folder for promotion. Please keep any and all promotion in that folder and that folder alone. Repeated "soft sells" - i.e. mentioning your book in every thread possible - constitutes douchery and will get you kickbanned.

For shills, you can put your posts in self-promotion, too. You can argue 'til you're blue in the face that it's not "self" promotion, but your shilling is obvious and we don't appreciate it. Failure to comply constitutes douchery and will get you kickbanned.

Do not argue with the mods when we have our mods hats on, for we are quick to anger.

colleen the convivial curmudgeon (blackrose13) | 2976 comments Update/clarification to the rules:

We no longer support individual threads for authors/books. We now have two dedicated threads for all promotions:

New book release information should be posted here.

Giveaways and discounts should be posted about here.

These are the only threads to be used for self-promotion.

Thanks! :)

colleen the convivial curmudgeon (blackrose13) | 2976 comments New rule, in addendum to the Promotion Threads:

From now on, if someone posts a new thread to promote their book - especially if that person's only post is their promo thread - the thread will be deleted and the poster kickbanned.

We're tired of people saying, "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know."

We have a rules thread for a reason. And the rules pop up for new members for their first post. So what you're basically saying is, "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't bother to read the rules because I'm just here to post about my book."
