I read this book as part of a reading challenge to read 26 books by 26 authors I had never read before with each authors last name beginning with a different letter of the alphabet. It was very funny and well worth reading.

I thought this book started off really well. It reminded me of Forrest Gump but with a Sopranos gangster feel to it. Unfortunately it became a little too repetitive for my liking hence the 3 star rating. A good book but not a great book in my opinion.

I'm enjoying this so far (little over a quarter of the way through) - it seems to be getting into its stride now. It's quite funny, and the alternative narrative of Allan's past is keeping it interesting for now.

I enjoyed this book but would agree with a 3 star rating. For me it was a little slow moving and I was ready for it to be over. That said, I enjoyed the ideas behind it and the writing.

Jami I agree, it does drag on a bit. However it is really funny! What tickles me most the number of encounters Allan has had throughout his life with famous politicians, and he's so apathetic!
