Doesn't he know that the Mogs won't let him live that long and rule their kind? They call it the Great Expansion so as soon as they don't need him anymore, he's dead! What do you guys think? After having just finished this book earlier I feel like (view spoiler)[ I may be more upset at Five because he killed Eight instead of betraying him. Like I am in no way saying that I like that he betrayed him but he was alone and the same way all of the numbers had their Cepans to tell them right from wrong and their place on Earth, Five had the Mogs and they brainwashed him. I think thats what his story is going to be about. I still am not of fan of Five though , I was just saying. (hide spoiler)]

I totally agree with you! (view spoiler)[I could sort of get over Five betraying them if he just rode off into the sunset with the Mogs without leaving behind any carnage but he wanted to kill Nine and Six and he did kill Eight - even if it was by (sort of) accident. And when he says "Don't hurt each other... we can all still be friends" at the end, that really got to me. Yes, Five's betrayal was horrible and so not cool but he crossed the line when he killed Eight. He would have crossed the line by killing Nine too like he was going to. (hide spoiler)]

Nine is pretty uncontrollable when it comes to violence and he isn't really a touchy feely sort of person that would be able to connect with Five. Five did have a little remorse for killing Eight but I don't know if he also has remorse for joining the Mogs side in the first place. Also, at the end, Adam tells Four he knows where they live and I assume that means that they'll attack their home once Adam gives up that info. My question is will Five be there and if one of them comes face-to-face with him, will they be able to kill him? (hide spoiler)]

Well, I know Five felt bad killing eight, but on the other hand he hit Six really badly and almost killed Nine without any remorse..so I don't think he's really that nice. (hide spoiler)]

However,I still dont like Five. i knew something was really fishy as soon as he said he didnt know what a Mog was. Likely seriously how can you NOT know the thing that is trying to KILL you. (view spoiler)[ While I first read the story, Five being a traitor was almost as surprising to me as for the other numbers. I mean sure he was a jerk sometimes, but a spy? Nope, Nope. At least with Adam we know what made him turn, but we still don't know many things about Five-his Real background (hide spoiler)]

I feel like Four is a very forgiving/understanding person even if it doesn't seem like it and he wasn't there to see Five in the act so he might forgive him. But I don't think Marina will ever forgive him. She loved Eight and she's pretty good at holding grudges! But if Four decides to forgive him, Marina has an influence over Four more so than Five does so maybe Marina will convince them all. I also think that Marina will blame Nine at least for a little bit because Eight died basically because Nine couldn't stop taunting Five when it mattered most (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I think they'll try Not to fight and just focus on the fight. Now they won't stop fighting back at all, even against Five, and even with Adam. But I really don't think Four will forgive him. As i mentioned earlier, at best they'd let him live, at worst, kill him. (hide spoiler)]
