Anyway I knew Elder would survive! I mean Amy's lost too much and not Elder too. He was so brave sacrificing himself for his people and everyone else on Centauri Earth. Bravo! (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 5: (view spoiler)[ They haven't been moving at all since the plague, and the plague was over 100 years ago? How are they ever going to get to the new planet? Are they going to get there in the third book? I can't believe they haven't been moving all this time. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 18: (view spoiler)[ While I think Elder could potentially be a good leader, he's really irritating me at the moment. He seems extremely naive and even though he has the ability to learn from his predecessors' mistakes and learn what works and what doesn't, he somehow seems to think that maybe it'll work if he does it. I don't think he should've taken everyone off phydus until he had a real plan for the ship. The shippers weren't on phydus so he could've worked with them until he came up with a solution, then taken everyone off the drug. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 34: (view spoiler)[ I think I agree with Bartie when he says that Elder isn't the leader they need. No, Elder isn't the one who distributed the green med patches or is putting people down because they're speaking out, but he's also a pretty crappy leader. He isn't strong enough to show that he's the right leader, and he can't make people trust him. Obviously that's hard to do, but the only reason he hasn't been completely overthrown yet is because there are still people who respect the Eldest system. I think the ship needs a governing council or something, because having just Elder as leader obviously isn't working. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 48: (view spoiler)[ I feel like Elder and Amy's romance is just a matter of convenience, because Elder is the only one that treats Amy with some sort of kindness. When she was wondering before if they would be together if they had a choice, I don't think so. They just don't have any chemistry to me. So are they going to land in this book, and is that why the next book is called Shades of Earth? I hope everything ends up happy with Amy being reunited with her parents and everything. I'm disappointed because he acted loyal, but at the same time I agree, the ship does need a leader and I think Orion would be a better one than Elder. (hide spoiler)]
