And those metal harnesses...did anyone even knew they werr there? Elder may like it or not, or he may notice or not, but I think he will be forced to follow Colonel Martin's orders and he will lead sometime in the book...

Ch17 (view spoiler)[I'm impressed by how Revis portrays the innocence of the shipborns with the new planet. The thunder, rain, the creatures, and everything. They really appear to have no clue and I'm buying it!

I don't know how or why but I initially assumed that there would also be humans inhabiting Centauri-Earth and aside from the creatures, they are also the ones aggressive. I have questions, though, particularly about the new planet. Were there humans living in it previously? If not, then why are there buildings? Where is the probe they're referring and how did Sol-Earth put it there? (hide spoiler)]

I'm liking the multiple layers to the plot. E.g. Elder trying to lead Godspeed and find a way to get the ship moving. Orion's clues left for Amy. The mystery of the body in the rabbit fields.

It's bittersweet that Bartie decided to stay behind on Godspeed and lead those there while Elder is bringing everyone else to Centrauri Earth... I wonder what lies on the planet. Just have to keep reading to find out! (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[It is stated in the book that centauri earth is inhabitable by 'monsters' and Godspeed send probes there, then return and Godspeed receives warning not to go there anymore. If these inhabitants are really monsters they should've killed the probes then and there but they didn't so maybe it's all just a scare or if they're really bad maybe they're up for negotiation (hide spoiler)]
