Although the story revolves around the consequences facing spoiled seventeen-year-old Karen Devane after her reckless actions cause the death of a homeless woman, the sinister back story makes it more than your average YA read. Peel away the glamor and prettiness and you have a murder mystery where revenge and family secrets dating back to the Second World War threaten to destroy two famous Hollywood families – and they don’t even realize it… The book’s got some disturbing stuff that’s definitely not for younger readers, though.
