Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments Two races of vampires walk our world. The Moroi are alive and wield elemental magical, while the Strigoi are undead and evil--feeding on the innocent to survive. Rose Hathaway--a half-vampire with poor impulse control--is training to be a bodyguard for a Moroi princess. Learning to decapitate and stake is hard enough, but Rose's real danger may lie in an illicit romance with one of her instructor.

Is anyone planning to see this movie??

message 3: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4734 comments Just finished Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1) by Richelle Mead and quite enjoyed it. To me it had a bit of the same feel as Mythos Academy, not the story, but the world building. And that's one of my fav YA series.

Although I do agree with some of the reviewers who thought Lissa was continually harping on Rose being slutty, and I couldn't quite figure out why Rose put up with Lissa being so passive and such a weight around her neck.

Rose appeared to be the smart one, always figuring out what was happening, but then she'd go psycho (sometimes just to protect Lissa) and everyone dismissed her as being of no account. The Headmistress was always trying to get rid of her even though Rose kept saving "Princess Lissa", so that didn't really make sense.

Not sure whether I liked Dimitri, even though I'm sure he ends up being 'the bestest'. Pretty sure it was because RM told us how wonderful he is and didn't really show us.

Nephilim | 19 comments What me and my friend decides to so about movies that are about books we are done with is that you have to go to the movie and not think about the book. Just see it as a movie not a movie based on a book.
