I have only been to Newport once and just for a weekend. In fact that is my only experience in Rhode Island. With that being said, I did recognize a number of places from my short stay. He mentions a number of well known places and streets, which I could picture from my short stay there. Overall, I really enjoyed the book and found it a pleasure to read.

This book sounds like it would be a nice break from reading some of the more gruesome (mysteries-love them anyway) or more serious works. The author, Thornton Wilder, would be new as would a book located in Rhode Island. It would be fun to give this book a try.
Were you able to recognize places in Rhode Island to which Thornton refers in the novel?
