Robert (valdieron) | 108 comments Seasons greetings and happy new years to all.
While I know that finishing book 3 of The Nexus Wars Saga should be on top of my priority list, I am contemplating changing the title of Demon Gates. I think I need a more generic fantasy-type name, where I think Demon Gates might turn readers off, thinking it more of a dark novel than an epic fantasy.
I have come up with a dozen or so.
If you haven't read Demon Gates, would one of these titles make you more or less likely to at least read the description?
For those who have read Demon Gates, do you think any of these other titles would be more suitable??
Any thoughts and opinions appreciated.

Legacy of Dragonlords
Legacy of Dragons
A Time of Dragons
When Dragons Reigned
Where Dragons Rule
Dawn of the Dragon
On Dragon Wings
Of Men and Dragons
The Coming Storm
Sword of Dragonkind
Sword of the Dragon
To the Dragon born
Dreams of Dragons
The Dragon's Tear

Steph Bennion (stephbennion) | 178 comments Do the books feature dragons, perchance? Anyway, I'd try running a few through a search engine to see if anyone's beaten you to it. 'Dragonlords' sounds familiar...

G.G. (ggatcheson) | 60 comments Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman have a book called Dragon Wings in their Death Gate Cycle series. Personally, I like the title 'A Time of Dragons.'

Claude Dancourt (claudedancourt) I have not read the book, however, I'd like to suggest : 'the dark Gate'.

Several titles in the list sound familiar.

Robert (valdieron) | 108 comments Unfortunately with there being a gazillion fantasy books relating to dragons, swords etc, the chance of finding a title that hasn't been used or close to it is very rare. If I can find something that totally relates to my book, then I am not really concerned if it is similar to somebody else's.

I have just uploaded some drafts of new covers. Let me know what you think! Do you think I should keep the name Demon Gates but change style to one of the other styles? Any input appreciated.

Zoya Tessi (zoyatessi) | 2 comments Hi Robert,

I haven't read your book, but I've read the synopsis and title vise, I would like to suggest something like
Seal of the Dragon ( I see that you are mentioning those)

Anyhow, tho story seems very interesting and I see that you have really high rating. If you plan on changing the Title, maybe you should consider changing the cover slightly. It has slightly dark feel...

G.G. (ggatcheson) | 60 comments Tough question...
Although the golden color is nice, it also changes the background inside the cameo, which makes it look less 3D and less similar to a drop of water.

What I know is that I definitely DON'T like The Dragon's Tear ver5.

This would probably be near impossible to do but if you could turn the cameo into a tear, (Pointy top) then The Dragon's Tear would be my new favorite choice for a title. :P

Carol Dobson I like Legacy of Dragonlords the best. It sounds more substantial than the others. I don't think it matters if the title resembles other titles, particularly when it's a word like Dragon which is obviously going to be used a lot. However, Of men and dragons sounds a bit like Of mice and men, and To the Dragon born makes one think of To the Manor born.

Thomas Watson | 71 comments I haven't read Demon Gates (hadn't heard of it until I chanced upon this discussion - I'll take a closer look now that I have), but I'd suggest leaving the title as is. I've seen the word dragon used too often - any title with "dragon" in it would actually be LESS visible to me. Demon Gates is a good title, IMO.

A.L. Butcher (alb2012) | 1013 comments Coming storm is definitely already used.

C.G. (CG_Garcia) | 21 comments "To the Dragon Born" makes me think of Robert Jordan's "The Dragon Reborn" so I'd probably shy away from that one. I like ver4 of "The Dragon's Tear" cover, but I would change the font style. It might be a little hard to read when viewed as an icon on an e-reader.
