"Um... Maybe just the basics, what it is and how it is used?" Ally suggested, biting her lip like she always did when she was thinking about something.

"I think we should just do brief summaries of a few genes and then write a bit about genes tat make up our DNA, like recessive and dominant genes" Ally said shrugging, not sure if that's what he wanted to do.
"Okay, that's seems like a good thing to do. Should we do normal genes like eye colors, or disease like albinism, down syndrome, Huntington's Disease?" Crispin asked.
"Maybe a few of the normal genes but then add a few rarer genetic mutations in to it as well" Ally offered, taking out her notebook.
Crispin nodded "Okay, sounds good." he said and opened up his notebook, "Which ones do you want to focus on?" he asked, he had a few in mind but he'd see what she'd want before saying anything.
"Up to you, I don't really mind" Ally said shrugging. She got a text from Nat saying that they were going to a party tonight but Ally replied with a simple "no" and turned her attention back to Crispin.
"We could start with simple ones like eye color and then go deeper and do freckles and other things like that" Crispin said.
"Sounds good" Ally agreed nodding, she looked at Crispin and away before he could notice. She could still see why she had a little crush on him when they were kids.
Crispin smiled small and nodded. He started making small notes in his journal and then he looked back up at Ally. "You have any that you want to do?" he asked.
Ally shook her head, "I let you know if I think of anything else to add" she told him. Her phone was still vibrating like crazy but she knew it was just Nat complaining about her not going out so she didn't bother checking.
"You need to check that?" Crispin asked, having heard her phone vibrate. He looked down at his notes and started writing again before she answered he was still listening though.
"No, it's just Natalie complaining" Ally said shrugging, she knew Nat would get bored in a few minutes and end up going with someone else, thank god.
"She wants me to go to some party with her tonight" She explained rolling her eyes, "I'm not in the mood to be forced into a dress and heels that I cannot walk in, which she will do" Ally said with a light laugh.
"Yeah, I'll probably do something similar." Crispin said with a small smile. "Not really the party type, like my friends" he said.
"Same here" Ally admitted shrugging, "Just not my thing" she concluded with a small smile.((Should they both go to the party and see each other there?))
((Sure))"Yeah" Crispin said with a smile and returned to his notes. "So uh... how have you been?" he asked and looked up at her again.
Ally smiled slightly, "Good, how about you?" she asked him. It had probably been over a year or two since they had even said hello to each other so she almost found this funny.
Ally checked the time quickly, "I better go" she told Crispin, "I'll see you around, we'll talk about the project on Monday, yeah?" she asked.
Crispin nodded slightly, "Okay, see ya then" he said with a smile. He put away his notes and set it to the side. He pulled out his journal again and started writing, he didn't need to be home yet so he was going to stay for a little bit longer.
Ally got home to see Nat sitting on her bed, grinning in self satisfaction. Ally tried to escape but it was too late, she was doomed to an evening social awkwardness and hormonal teenagers. Fun.
Crispin spent about an half an hour at the library before packing up and leaving. As he walked home, since he only lived a few blocks away, he was stopped by one of his friends. His friend nagged him about going to the party and after a while Crispin just decided to go.
Nat insisted on choosing Ally's outfit which she really wasn't eager for, "just make sure I can stil walk!" Ally whined, earning a giggle from Nat. After two hours of being annoyingly pampered the girls were up to Nats standard and waited for Lukas to pick them up, Ally was still protesting but to avail.
Crispin went up to his room, and didn't really do anything to get ready for the party other then change his white shirt to a black one. He then put his jean jacket back on and then felt he was ready for the party so he went to hang out his friends until it was time to go.
Ally was clinging to Lukas in attempt to not fall over as the got out of his car and walked over to the house that was already full of people and blasting music. Ally took a deep breath, "don't let me face plant ok?" She told Lukas who chuckled, "never" he replied shaking his head.
Crispin, who was already at the party, was sitting on the couch, watching the others dance and have a good time. Like he said before he really wasn't the partying type.
Nat tried to persuade Ally to come to dance but she declined. Ally stood to the side, leaning against a table. After a few moments a guy she didn't know came over, "hey beautiful" he said with a wink. Ally bit her lip and shook her head, trying to tell the guy the wasn't interested but he would take no for an answer.
Crispin sat on the couch watching the crowd grow and grow as more people came to join the party. He saw a few people that he recognized, but a lot of them were strangers. After a while he stood up and decided to walk around, maybe to find someone to talk to.
Ally was still dealing with the idiot that wanted to 'show her upstairs.' She tried to walk away but stumbled and fell into Crispin. She regained her balance and looked at him, "sorry" she mumbled, secretly finding it funny that thanks to the heels she was his height. The guy from earlier came up behind her, "it's almost like you're trying to get away from me" he said slyly, Ally rolled her eyes "I was" she said in annoyance.
Crispin caught Ally, "It's fine" he said and helped her stand back up straight. He looked behind her at the guy apparently trying to hit on her. It was very clear that he was failing, "Get lost" he told him simply.
The guy sighed and walked away mumbling something under his breath, Ally turned Crispin "thanks, he's been following me all night for some reason" she said shaking her head. She knew the guy was hitting on her but not why he bothered, she self consciously pulled her dress down.
Crispin smiled "No problem" he said and looked down at her, eying what she was wearing. "You look nice, that's probably why he was following you" he said.
"Thanks" she replied with a slight blush, "I wonder how hard it would be to get out of here" Ally said looking from the door to Nat and back to Crispin.
Crispin shrugged "Would Nat try to stop you if you tried" he asked, and looked over at Nat, then back at Ally.
"Yes, so if she doesn't see me I should be fine" Ally said with a giggle, "my plan is to go down to Tino's and get a pizza" she told him grinning.
"Feel free to join me if you get bored, you remember Tino's right?" Ally said with a mischievous smile, Tino's was there old hang out when they were kids. Ally still went there because even though It was a small business there was no competition with their pizza.
Ally laughed and waited until Nat was looking the other way, "I suppose I might see you later then" she said, walking off surprisingly well considering she couldn't walk in heels.
Crispin smiled and watched her walk away for a few moments before, he began to walk around again. He was seriously thinking about joining her though.
Ally got down to Tino's and ordered a pepperoni pizza. After so many years she had grown to know the owners quite well, she sat in a booth a swapped her heels for converse. A minute or two later their daughter, Lucy, came out and started talking to her about first grade class, Ally loved kids and Lucy was adorable.
Crispin walked around the party a little longer before he left. He wasn't sure if he'd actually do to Tino's or not though. He just didn't want to be at the party anymore.
Ally had to admit she was a little disappointed Crispin didn't come but she hadn't really expected him to. She smiled when Lucy crawled up next to her again with a book. With a smile ally started reading the book with her.
After a while he came by Tino's and he decided to go in. He saw Ally sitting at a table with Lucy, he smiled and walked over to them, "Hey" he said.
Lucy's face lit up and she jumped over to hug Crispin, leaving the finished book on the table. Ally waved a little and saw her pizza coming out, Lucy's mum smiled at the pair, "it's been awhile since you two have been here at the same time" she said with a laugh.
