Stuck halfway through Vis and Ramin. I loved the first part: it does ressemble Europeen medieval and Renaissance fiction, which are my specialty, so I wasn't taken aback by the rythm of the story... until the middle of the book. It's starting to be a little too repetitive for my liking. I'll get back to it next weekend, for I am sure there is more to the story than what I've already read about the love triangle between Vis, Mobad and Ramin. What I do find very interesting is all implicite references to Islam, Christianity, Zoroastrianism. It's a beautiful mix of cultures that is quite refreshing!
Thanks for the feedback ! it is great to cover two from Medieval Iran :) .

I am now reading Censoring an Iranian Love Story
http://www.theguardian.com/books/2009...
I am relatively still at the beginning , but the story is told in a very strange was , moving back and forth between the love story in one line , the author and the Censoring employee in the other line .
Anyone read it ? was it first published in Iran ?

Hi, I have been a member of the group for a while, but don't get to keep up with all the books. I just read and reviewed a friend's novel that takes place in Turkey, These Lions Have Wings by J S Kessler and wanted to share my review:
