I didn't like them together, but I still liked his character. Its sad that hes gone. But her and Dimitri at the end, YESSS!! I hope that works out. Now I'm dissapointed, I had just gotten used to the last lady and this one's kindergarten voice is actually more annoying. So I'm starting off a little skeptical here. (hide spoiler)]
Chapter 5: (view spoiler)[ Yea Rose really comes off as the spoiled rotten brat in this book and we really have to bare through her struggle to mature mentally without the life experiences that actually cause that maturity to snap in place. I love Lissa and Christian and I'm glad that Lissa is finally getting some peace no matter that it may be super short. (hide spoiler)]
Chapter 10 (view spoiler)[ Yay Adrian! Now some things are going to start to sizzle. Adrian has always been one of my favorites despite his faults and addictions! Can't wait for him to stir up some shoot! (hide spoiler)]
Chapter 15: (view spoiler)[ Yea i think this might be the least favorite of the series for me. I know the author is trying to do the buildup but this book kind of has the "middle book syndrome" where it seems like there is a lot of dead space while the author is trying to get everything in place for the next in the series.. I still think Rose is soooo immature but I see her struggle to do better. (hide spoiler)]
Chapter 20: (view spoiler)[ Gah its so obvious why she takes shadows from Lissa.. the bond keeps Lissa from going "crazy" by sharing the darkness of her shattering her soul! It makes sense to me. The escape is coming I can feel it! I can't remember how they get out but I remember it doesn't end well. (hide spoiler)]
Finished: (view spoiler)[ Well for one the whole thing was just a bunch of stupid kids biting off more than they can chew and loosing a life because of it.. Now we really see some change in Rose as she finally gets it. On the cusp of a war! Cant wait to start the next one.. I will say that the narrator's "Whiney" voice she did during the capture just about killed me. I wonder if the next one is narrated by this one or the first one's narrator. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I have to agree with Tiera on this one. I'm not sure if it's the worst in the series since I haven't read them all, but it seems like quite a step down from the first book. This one just didn't have a lot going on that affected our group of characters directly until it got closer to the end, and everyone was acting so childish (Rose in particular). It was mostly 300 pages of people just being mad at each other and making poor decisions. It sucks that Mason had to die for his, and it almost seems like the author planned it that way so Rose wouldn't have to tell him how she really felt. I feel another love triangle coming on to replace this one though. (hide spoiler)]

Khristine Hvam narrates the next audiobook too, and I listened to the sample since you're not enjoying it and I usually really like her audiobooks. The voice she's using doesn't even sound like her own. I think she's trying to imitate the woman who read the first book, or she is just trying to sound as immature as Rose comes off.

I would be more forgiving if she told the grown-ups first and THEN ran off to save Mason herself, but this plan was moronic to start with and now they are captured. (hide spoiler)]

It almost felt like the author herself looked back and realized it and then gave us that excuse about Rose being affected by Lissa's medications somehow. I am hopeful that now that Rose realizes this, and she has lost Mason, she will grow the fuck up a little. Otherwise, I just can't wrap my head around why anyone would be interested in her.
