No need for that. Someone fixed it, but all you need to do is edit the books and move them to the correct profile. The empty profile will be deleted by a script that runs I think once monthly.

I don't understand why would someone go and "fix" the author on a book, esp. when it is a goodreads author.
If you've noticed there is a problem with the name you should post the goodreads author name for editing, and then the supers will either fix it, or tell you if an exception has been made. But who goes and fix author's names when there is a goodreads author just next to it?

That's why I'm saying that if a librarian comes across one of these books, they might very well correct them according to GR librarian policy, causing them to stop being associated with A.B.Whelan's author page and creating a new author page for A.B. Whelan, starting the whole process all over again.
Does that make any sense?

H.G.Wells (Goodreads Author)
Example,
why would you go and edit it and remove it from the authors page.
If it is a mistake in the author name, as I said we (the librarians) should post the author for editing (not just go and remove the authors books from their profile, or even leave them in a separate profile.) Whether the supers/staff will edit the name is up to them, exceptions are done.
Unless there is a second Goodreads author with the second name and the book is wrongly attributed. So I still don't get your point, being that the books should be left on the other profile. By your logic you should also move all the books from the author's profile. I'm not trying to argue, but I think whatever is the case the books should be moved to the author's profile. When the profile is fixed (if it needs fixing), the books will fixed as well.
And you can't really prevent mistakes being done by other Librarians, I think the scripts do enough of a mess though.

It should not be, as that is contrary to Goodreads policy on author names. I have corrected it to A.B. Whelan to meet Goodreads standards.

In the past year all my books showed up on my author page and now they're split into two groups. My original author name is A.B.Whelan (no space) and the new one is A.B. Whelan (with space).
Please help me correct my author name because since it happened I only able to edit metadata and not book details of the books in the list above.
I really appreciate your help.
Thank you!!
