There have been many unofficial guides to the saga, created by fans, and other miscellaneous authors. Stephenie Meyer was scheduled to release her Official guide. The guide includes; encyclopedic references, character profiles, genealogical charts, maps and other stuff. It acts as a handbook to the series.

*The release date for The Twilight Saga The Official Guide has been announced as being set for December 31st 2010. Two years after it's original release date.

However, like Midnight Sun, its release has been post-poned. It was scheduled to be released in December of last year. It's release also like Midnight Sun, is unknown and no date is set.

So what does this mean? Fans are not feeling the love for Stephenie like they used to. I found comments on this amazon product discussion forum that suggest, fans are not happy.

"Then the stuff with Midnight Sun not being finished. Then the movie being a disappointment Now the Guide being delayed. I'm really sort of losing any interest in getting the guide or any other Stephenie Meyer's works at all."

"It seems that SM cares more about what she wants over what her readers want."

"When the hell is this going to be released?!?!?! I pre-ordered this 7 effing months ago!!!It should've been released 3 months ago!!!"

I'm still gonna stick by Stephenie on this one, but
I think the people at Little Brown Publishing, should really communicate with each other better. Am I wrong?

I went to the mall the dayit came out to go to the book store to get that book. I looked allover for that book to find out they didnt even get it in! I was furious! I asked all of my friends (they're big Twilighters also and usually if one of us dont know something the other does) they said they didnt know anything either. I was left dissapointed, without ever knowing what happened to it or when it would come out.

At least now you know. I'm sorry you had to search all over the bookstore.

And Little Brown is supposed to be one of the "big ones" as Stephenie Meyer said. Be it lack of communication, organization, Stephenie wanting to edit it more, or all of the above, it's still unprofessional.

I ♥ Luke Castellan *Alexa* (i_love_jacob_black_95) | 3164 comments I agree. I love Steph, but come on, with all the postpones, people are going to loose interest. If this is some plan to make sure Midnight Sun is as popular as it can be when it premiers, it'll work, but the whole other area of the saga, likes the movies, will not be nearly as popular anymore.

Hopefully that something, will be to set the dates for once.

This is ridiculous. The official guide was supposed to be released in the end of 2008, and now they moved it 2010!

I could get that they would want to market it with the movies, but the only movie scheduled to be released is Eclipse. That is not likely the final installment. So what gives? People are absolutely irate over this now. Many fans have been anticipating the book since early 2008. Only for it to be released two years later? Little Brown is definitely on my blacklist at the moment.
