N. LaMar | 6 comments Howl's Moving Castle was well done as a movie, in fact I might've liked it better than the book.

Yeah, this one was great too!

A very complex mystery set in Middle Ages, in a monastery, and Sean Connery does a fabulous job in his role. The book was a slow read, but enjoyable, and the movie was fairly true to the book, IMO.

TOTALLY agree!! Loved Remains... such fabulous historical details! And Anthony Hopkins was superb. Also the woman - was that Helen Mirren or Emma Thompson? Can't recall now. Too early, not enough caffeine. LOL

The PBS version with Poirot played by David Suchet is even better - Suchet makes Poirot come to life. Finney had no real clue about acting like a "Belgie." ;-D

Silence of the Lambs scared the pants off me! And Julie and Julia was fabulous... Meryl Streep! Who else could bring out Julia Child's humor and sadness with such depth? The actor playing her hub was also great. Amy Adams was very good too, charming and sweet.

Hannah (haneee) | 1 comments has anyone seen and read Flipped? It's both good, in my opinion. The movie was able to retain the simplicity of the book. =)

Cate (The Professional Fangirl) (chaostheory08) | 199 comments I didn't like the Any Human Heart adaptation too much. It looked good.

Maggie the Muskoka Library Mouse (mcurry1990) I thought that "The Great Gatsby" was more attractive as a movie than a book. I liked how they modernized it. Also, "Mockingjay" was a better movie for me than a book. I got lost in all the political talk in the novel.
