I will read fifty books in 2014. At least five must be non-fiction. None can be casebooks from class. I am currently reading:
1. Heroes of Olympus: House of Hades by Rick Riordan 2. 1984 by George Orwell 3. Lost Dogs by Jim Gorant (non-fiction) 4. The Spy Who Loved: The Secrets and Lives of Christina Granville by Clare Mulley 5. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak 6. Divergent by Veronica Roth 7. The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoyevsky 8. Last Call: The Rise and Fall of Prohibition by Daniel Okrent (non-fiction) 9. Death at Seaworld by David Kirby (non-fiction) 10. The Republic of Pirates by Colin Woodard (non-fiction)
Finished Lost Dogs. This is a sensitive subject for me because I love dogs and, although the descriptions were not overly graphic, it was difficult to read. Any book that can make me cry, however, gets five stars. And I now hate Michael Vick and those involved in dogfighting more than ever (which I didn't think was possible).
