Thanks Joy! There is not enough time for my love of reading lol, but I'm sure you understand that. Right now I'm reading the Last Bridge and already it has me held hostage!

message 103: by Patti (new)

Patti (bkwmn1992) Lynda's comments on something lead me here. I'm a librarian and love to read (not all librarians do, or even library employees). My absolute favorite genre is mystery; as I am new to working with YAs, I am reading a lot in that area--vampires, mystery, realistic, SF/F. I enjoy a variety of fiction, including some westerns (I've be choosing those from the Spur Awards), and some nonfiction. I've been a bit slow in my reading (for me) for a month or so as I've been taking a leadership course--later this week, I should be able to get back to reading my usual amount--up to 3+ books a week :). I like what I've seen so far here! Happy Reading!

Kristina (klonk) Hello everyone, and I'm Kristina, but you can call me Kicki (cause there's a lot of Kristina's on this site). I'm a 22 year old University student from Gothenburg, Sweden - studying to become a teacher in preschool, primary school and in special schools. On my free time, reading is what I love doing most, and it always has been - even though spending time with my little cat girl is quite nice too! I'm currently reading a Swedish chick lit book called "På grund av Leon" by Jenny Leeb, but I love to read books from all kinds of genres - which is why I ended up here. :)

I'm glad to see some new faces on here. Hope you enjoy the discussions. :)

Anya | 1 comments Hi everyone. I found this website a little while ago where I stumbled upon this group. I just want to introduce myself as a fellow book lover. I don't find myself committed to one (or even five) particular genre. I look forward to finding many more interesting titles through this group. So...a big hello!!

Hi Anya!
You have a lot of company in the "I like more than one genre" area. LOL I hope you enjoy the group! :) Don't hesitate to create discussion threads if we aren't covering something that you would like to chat about. :)

message 109: by Diana (new)

Diana | 5 comments Hi! I just joined the website and I'm not sure how to use everything on it, but it seems like a great place to read book reviews!

Welcome Diana,
Don't worry, you'll get the hang of it. New websites can be a little daunting when trying to learn your way around them...it's not too bad. I joined in December, and I still find out something new about GR every once in a while. :)

message 111: by K. (new)

K. (kodoharty) | 101 comments Hi Joy: I just joined GR this month and am really enjoying exploring it and finding people I've posted with for a long time at Amazon RF and HRF. I see a few here! (Yay! :) I've just kind of figured out the website and am really liking the organization of it. This is my first group I've joined (no invite . . . so I hope "joining" is okay . . . since I have no idea how to "get invited to the party" (I'm a "crasher" - LOL! :D)

I love to read romance novels of pretty much any subgenre, with historicals probably being my favorite. I've read practically every genre of reading over the years and just started trying to remember non-romance genre books I've read over the years (A LOT! This is going to take some time).

I was drawn to your group because the first e-mail I received that tracked me here was to your "association game" thread. I LOVE games (as a couple of you know here! LOL!), so once I saw you had quite a few members who also enjoy romance. I thought it was a good place to join. I also LOVE the fact you have a "book club" book to read each month -- as I've been looking for that (I want to be "forced" read a few books I might not pick out myself ;).

Lastly . . . I type really fast, so I'm "wordy" (Sorry! :) Thanks for setting up what looks to be a fun discussion group Joy! :)
K.

LOL Don't worry about it. This is an open group, which means everyone is welcome! :) There are a lot of people in this group who love historical's so you'll fit right in. I post a poll(or 2) each month so that everyone can vote for the "Group read" for the next month..so you should check that out. :)
Enjoy the group, and don't hesitant to ask any questions if you are confused at all. :)
