Hi, Jasja! Welcome to the group. It's great to see you here! :)

message 752: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm not quite sure I've introduced myself here already, so here it goes: I'm Sabrina, I'm 36 years old and I live in Belgium. I love reading (naturally), walking and photography. I'm also very interested in foreign languages (in fact: I'm starting to study my 5th foreign language tomorrow) and I love animals. My favorite books are romance books, mostly historical and paranormal.

Hi, Sabrina! Great to see you here. And I'm jealous about the languages! I would love to have a talent for that. :)

How about this one: Life is like a box of chocolates--eat it all up before it melts away. If that ain't profound, I dunno what is!

Jennifer Sawyer (jensangel) | 2 comments Hello! Newbie on the scene. New to the whole goodreads and discussion group thing. Love to read, wish I had more time, but every free second is spent reading. I love Romance and Fantasy, but am starting to reach out and read different genres and finding that I like them too. Too many books so little time ;)

Jessica (battlejess) Hi! Just joined. I've spent the past couple days trying to find a group that seemed like a good fit, and I hope this is it. I've been a voracious reader every since I was a little girl and my grandmother gave me a huge box full of my aunt's old Nancy Drew books. My favourite genres now, though, are fantasy and science fiction.

Wendy *Sebella Blue* Mitchell (goodreadscomblueshedevil32) Hi, I'm Wendy and I know quite a few of you already. When I'm not working on my blog or reviewing books, I also shelter and care for about 2 dozen wolf hybrids. So, I guess you could say I don't have a lot of free time. I read so I don't forget how to speak English, and accidentally howl at somebody.

message 774: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert | 2345 comments Mod
LOL! Wendy, don't worry about howling. I do it sometimes and I don't spend any time with wolves. I'd like to, though. :)

I love young adult, romance and poetry. And I love flowers. I hope to learn the ropes soon and look forward to looking over all the many topics. Feel free to say hello.

Cierra (itscierraduh) | 12 comments Hey there everyone! I'm Cierra and I obviously love reading or I wouldn't be on this site (^_^). I'm currently deployed so I'll do my best to try and get the books everyone is reading for the month. I only have a month left though and I'll be back on land! Anywho. I just thought I'd say hello so "Hello!"

☕️Kimberly (Caffeinated Reviewer) (kimbacaffeinate) Hi Cierra, thank you for serving out country and Happy reading! If you do not have one, consider getting an ereader. You can download books before you deploy and carry them with you. I personally prefer the Nook, but there are a lot of good ones on the market.

I have a nook :) I absolutely love it. The only problem is there is no wifi in the middle of the ocean to update :( On the plus side I'll be in a port soon and I'll be able to get whatever next month book is! yay!

☕️Kimberly (Caffeinated Reviewer) (kimbacaffeinate) Yes, you need to load up with books before you deport, since you can access books on the nook that downloaded already :)

message 791: by Craig (new)

Craig Hallam (craighallam) Hi everyone!

I'm a nurse from Doncaster, UK. Although I love to read, I love writing even more. I stick mostly with Speculative Fiction but will turn my hand to anything at all. My short story collection ebook has had some great written reviews and mostly good ratings (can't please everyone, unfortunately). My latest novel is finished and waiting for some nice publisher to take pity on it. While I'm holding my breath for that I'm working on the next one.

Looking forward to perusing the group and meeting you all at some point!

Craig

Chantille Hello :) New here, my name is Chantille. I'm 26 years old from Canada... love reading of course! I'm basically into reading anything that keeps my interest up and well written.
I have this habit of finding random "things" to read about from everyday life hehehe... such as Salt, anything! I like to explore new things in non-fiction books but I also like any fiction books with a good story :)

message 796: by Al (new)

Al | 52 comments Hello, all! I'm delighted to find a jolly group where I might find some leads to good books. I'm Al, 65, retired, and very happy with my new K3. I guess I have a genre problem. I like many (but not all) genres. The complication is that I like to make exceptions. I don't usually go for violent thrillers, for example, but I loved the Steig Larsson trilogy. I don't normally gravitate to Christian lit, but The Hummingbird's Daughter is one of my all-time favorites. Gothic romance? No way...except Jane Eyre is outstanding. It's often hard to find those exceptions--I have to kiss a lot of frogs, as it were. Maybe I have company somewhere in this group--it'll be fun to find out!

message 797: by Edward (new)

Edward Creter (httpwwwedcoolcom) | 62 comments I'm Christian myself, and yet I find that most Christian lit is more like overpreaching than good stories about faith, but just for you, Al, I'll try Hummingbird's Daughter for size cos the title sounds cool. Caution: avoid Christian "lit" by country star Sara Evans cos I'm not sure her "writings" are indicative of her faith. FYI. And PS: Welcome to our humble club!

message 798: by Al (new)

Al | 52 comments Thanks, Edward. You might try the sample or "look within" first. Hummingbird's Daughter is the true story of the author's great aunt Teresita, a famous curandera in northern Mexico. You could read my review of it, here at Goodreads. Some find the book fairly raw; few would class it with standard Christian lit, I'd guess. I found it wonderfully written and inspiring, one of the few books I've read more than twice.

☕️Kimberly (Caffeinated Reviewer) (kimbacaffeinate) Welcome Al! Hi Ed, 2 great faith based books..with out too much salt are
Wrapped in Rain: A Novel of Coming Homeand
Waking Hours. I posted reviews for these on my blog: http://kimbathecaffeinatedbookreviewe...
happy reading :)

message 800: by Edward (new)

Edward Creter (httpwwwedcoolcom) | 62 comments Well Kim, consider 'em on my to-read list, and FTR (for the record): I have at least 500 to-read books! I hope it's enough!!! WHEW!!!
