Although David Baldacci's book Wish You Well is fiction it includes many of the habits and customs of Applalachian type living.
It is different than any other of his books and I think you might find it charming. I think it would be available at the library too.
I loved it so much am going to read it again.

OK, I admit it. I’m a total, incurable book junky, who gets withdrawals if I don’t get my daily fix, and so it’s great to have found a group for people who share my addiction. I’ll read pretty much anything, from women’s fiction and young adult, to thrillers and paranormal. So long as it’s a great story and not too heavy-going (I read for pleasure, not self improvement) I’ll snap it up! Among my favourite authors are Penny Vincenzi, Philippa Gregory, James Patterson, Jessica Chambers, Cassandra Clare and J.K. Rowling. I can’t wait to start getting to know you all and chat books!

Welcome to the new members.

I just watched your video on youtube. Very interesting! I think it's a great service you're doing for book lovers!

Why Thank you, Roseann!!! I got tired of watching a lot of the reviewers on Youtube, because I have some ADD tendencies and when people just talk at you for five or more minutes... well, there is a reason monologues aren't big in films!! I thought the images make it more interesting and keeps the person's attention. It takes WAY longer, but I think it is worth it! Besides, I've found a bunch of people to give me free books for it, which feeds my addiction quite nicely!!! If you have a youtube account, you should friend me so it will tell you whenever I have a new upload (since they are not "regular". If not, it is really easy to create one. Or if you are on FB, you can friend me there. I always post them there as soon as I am done!!

Anyways! Hi again and happy to be here :)

Good to have you Kerri!!

Thank you!

My name is Zandra. I am a chronic book reader and thought this would be a great place for inspiration on what to read next.

I am looking forward to expanding my always growing TBR list and discussing some amazing books :D

Warning: GR is addictive! lol I joined in 2009 and I am still addicted to it. It's a great way to keep track of all the books you want to read, but are unlikely to find the time for, because you list grows faster than you can read. lol

I liked the "swap book" thing but I don't have kindle or anything like it, and I live in Portugal, so I guess it won't be for me, right?

I am 44 care taker of mom (82/cancer)and an avid reader (addicted)when I get the chance. I pretty much love them all, romance every now and again, mainly horror-zombies-true crime-ya and many other genres.
My read list is like forever and a day long,I love yard sales/rummage sales/discount stores the first place I run to is the books. Our library here dont do to many yrly salses they have books on sale all year and the prices for pbs are 3.99 and hbs 7.99 so they are a lil pricey
Hello all.. I'm a horror book author and avid book reader. I own a Kindle and never leave home without it.

Currently reading A Canticle For Leibowitz and If on a Winter's Night a Traveler just showed up at the library so that's next. ;)
Cheers!

In general, I love books that can make me laugh, and I often read humour novels that have sci-fi or fantasy settings. My favourite authors include Sir Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams, Robert Rankin and Sue Townsend.
I also love the theatre and read plays quite a lot - two of my favourite playwrights are William Shakespeare (no, seriously, I read his stuff for FUN!) and Tennessee Williams.
Welcome Everyone! I hope you enjoy my group and let me know if you need anything or if you have any questions. :)

I love to read and have way too many books in my TBR pile! I have books everywhere in my house and I enjoy reading most genres. For a while now I've been mostly reading historical romances and PNR but recently I've gotten into a post-WWII fiction phase and more 'historical' fiction.
