Rachmi | 4882 comments Yes, it makes so much easier. If I don't do it, I will freak out because it's so hard for me to choose books randomly.

Tati Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

Would you say this is blue?

message 413: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90920 comments Mod
It looks green on the kindle. i don't have a hard copy though.

message 414: by Tati (new)

Tati your Kindle shows colors? Mine doesn't...

message 415: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90920 comments Mod
I have a kindle fire. it's more like an ipad.

message 416: by Abi (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments Yeah, i'd say it's more mint green. Sorry. :(

It could be used for contemporary though.

message 417: by Tati (new)

Tati Oh, that makes sense! I thought (don't know why) that you had a Paperwhite.

message 418: by Tati (new)

Tati I have two books competing for the box of contemporary... And I don't really know where else I could fit either Stripped or Fangirl... I thought of using Fangirl for the blue cover and Stripped for contemporary.

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90920 comments Mod
have you done published in 2013?

message 420: by Tati (new)

Tati Yep.

For the tearjerker block, would the book have to a drama or one sad scene would suffice?

message 421: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90920 comments Mod
The cover for the fangirl audio edition is blue - Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

message 422: by Abi (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments Sarah wrote: "The cover for the fangirl audio edition is blue - Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell"

This would work. :) Just use that cover when you submit the review.

For the tearjerker, If it's about a sad subject, or there's one sad scene, it will count. :)

message 423: by Tati (new)

Tati Thanks, girls! I guess I'll use Fangirl for the blue cover then :) (tearjerker doesn't really fits with the lines I'm working on)

message 424: by Jenn (new)

Jenn Would Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson work as MC has a mental illness?

message 428: by Jenn (new)

Jenn Okay, thanks Abbie! :)

message 429: by Abi (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments Maybe you could buddy read it together, then. :)

message 430: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments Jenna do you want to buddy read it? If not that is ok because I need the mental illness square

message 431: by Jenn (new)

Jenn When are planning on reading it, Heather?
I'm just going to try and squeeze it in before the 29th. It might not happen though cause my schedule is pretty packed. But I hope it does -- cause I need that block too, and that would complete a line for me :D

We could tentatively plan a buddy read? And if I've not finished the other books, you could carry on without me. I just don't want to hold you back from getting the square.

message 432: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments LOL Jenna I need a few more squares before I make a line so I was trying to get it in before the 29th as well I have to read Clockwork Angel and it may take me awhile to read that one

message 433: by Jenn (new)

Jenn haha..sounds like we're in the same boat then. I'll send you msg then when I get around to picking up Wintergirls. Do you still wanna buddy read it even if we don't finish in time for the challenge?

message 434: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments yes

message 435: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments Would The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton count as set in the past? one of the tags is Historical Fiction

message 436: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Heather Yes, I am sure it would. Its set in the 1960s.

Noella (kookiemonstar) | 3613 comments Can Stardust by Neil Gaiman count for witches (It's one of the tags, just not the top ones) ?

message 440: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90920 comments Mod
I'll check with Abbie but I think that should be okay ☺ There are quite a few witches in that one!

message 441: by Christina (new)

Christina | 4293 comments Would Stardust also be set in the past? I'm interested in that one too!

message 442: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90920 comments Mod
I don't think it would count for set in the past. It's set in a fantasy world rather than the normal world, so it's not really set in our past (if you get what i mean?)

message 443: by Christina (new)

Christina | 4293 comments @Sarah
okie no problems! I'm finding it a little tough to find a set in our past book. Do you have some suggestions? Thanks :)

message 444: by Abi (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments Whatever Sarah says for stardust will be fine. :) I've never read the book / watched the film, so i have no idea!

There's only a few i can think off at the top of my head:

Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1) by Cassandra Clare Clockwork Prince (The Infernal Devices, #2) by Cassandra Clare Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices, #3) by Cassandra Clare Etiquette & Espionage (Finishing School, #1) by Gail Carriger Curtsies & Conspiracies (Finishing School, #2) by Gail Carriger (and i think her other series is too. Not sure about that, though.)

There's been a few mentioned in this thread too. :)
