I Googled it when I first noticed people talking about it because I had no clue! It's a bit of an odd one!

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Mei Exactly! I thought it was like chicklit and light romance etc. Least I am not the only one!

@Sarah Yeah, it definitely is. :)

Hey guys, this is just some info to help you to work out if a cover counts for a 'colour' square -

Coloured covers - covers need to be 60% or more of one colour to count. Imagine that you are asked to draw a line around the coloured areas on the book - do they cover the majority of the book? please ask for confirmation if you are unsure at all.

blue covers - teardrop vs throne of glass
Teardrop (Teardrop, #1) by Lauren Kate= more than 60% blue
Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1) by Sarah J. Maas = less than 60% blue

×

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Sarah Thanks for that. That is actually very helpful. :)

message 355: by Inês (new)

Inês | 583 comments I have a question about the colour, does this count as blue? Because to some it might be purple
Angelfall by Susan Ee

message 356: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90920 comments Mod
I would say that its a bit too dark to really be blue, the only bits that look really blue are these bits -

and there isn't really enough blue for it to count as 60% really.

It looks more like Black with a little purple in it too me.

You could use it for Paranormal, Strong main character, Dystopian, and buddy (if buddy read) :)

message 358: by Inês (new)

Inês | 583 comments Got it! Thanks :)
By the way, in the people on cover box, can it be only one person? For example, Days of Blood & Starlight (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #2) by Laini Taylor

message 359: by Abi (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments The people on cover square has to be 2 people or more. :)
You could use that as 350+ pages, and paranormal, though.

message 360: by Inês (new)

Inês | 583 comments That's what I thought, I was just double checking :) Thank you!

Oh I love this book, great choice Christina :D but I never saw it with this cover. My copy is the one with the monster on it, your copy is pretty, though :)

message 365: by Christina (new)

Christina | 4293 comments @Rachmi
Actually I have a library copy with the monster on it...LOL But I wondered if there was another edition and I saw there was a flower so I wanted to do it for the flower block :P

message 366: by Rachmi (new)

Rachmi | 4882 comments Yes, it suits for the flower block and it looks so pretty. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did :)

message 368: by Tati (new)

Tati I have a question: if I complete a line, do I have to say so?

message 369: by Abi (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments Tatiana wrote: "I have a question: if I complete a line, do I have to say so?"

No, i tick them off, so i know when you get a line. :)

message 370: by Tati (new)

Tati Got it! By the way, how do you keep track of all the participants in the challenge?

message 371: by Abi (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments I have each participants name written down, with their grid below it. Then i cross the description out when the review for that block is submitted. :)

message 372: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments im about to complete my 2nd square :(

message 373: by Tati (new)

Tati wow! That's a lot of work!

message 374: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Kennedy (laurenxo) Would The Lost Child of Philomena Lee: A Mother, Her Son and A Fifty-Year Search count for title starts with your initial? If you don't count "The" it would start with my initial but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to count that or not.

message 375: by Abi (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments Normally in challenges (Like the festive spelling) you don;t have to count the "The" but since you only have to take the title into account for one block, it would be a bit easy.
So for this one, it would have to start with "L" sorry. :(

message 376: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Kennedy (laurenxo) Ok, could I count it for people on the cover?

message 377: by Christina (new)

Christina | 4293 comments Do we get updates on the outstanding score or is it a surprise to the end? (unless we take the effort ourselves to calculate hehe)

message 378: by Abi (new)

I can't do an update on the points, because the bonus points for the lines can't be added until the challenge is over. :)

As far as I'm aware it's the same as all the other blocks - one point for the review, and 1 point for the buddy read.

Well done! I've been trying to do lines too, but sometimes you just end up with squares all over the place and no full lines!

Hehehe, yes exactly!I read three or four books in buddy read but then realize that it couldn't make a full lines :D So I have to read another books to make it a line :)

Yep. You don't actually get a point for the block.
You get one point for a review (but the review submitted won't count unless it can count for a square you haven't already gotten) and one for the buddy.
Then you get 5 bonus points for each line you can make. :)

message 393: by Christina (new)

Christina | 4293 comments Awesome! Thanks for the clarification :D
