Linsey | 26 comments What do we have to do to make it official that we ticked off one of the boxes? Like I have the box "first in a series" done already, but how can I make it official to you guys?

message 59: by Abi (last edited Jan 05, 2014 01:29PM) (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments You need to read the books in the challenge times, and then you fill out review and submit it in the review thread like this:

Delirium (Delirium, #1) by Lauren Oliver
Description: Mods pick
Review: (Link to review)
Buddy: (Link if yes, No if not)

Ok! I am going to need one, so do you have any book you want to do?

message 61: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Linsey, you can see what books other people want to read, or post books that you would like to buddy read in our 'wanted:reading buddies' thread ☺ - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

message 62: by Christina (new)

Christina | 4293 comments Hi, I have a question regarding buddy reads. Do we both have to tick off the same blocks? E.g. Clockwork angel could be ticked off as paranormal for me but over 350 pages for my buddy. Just confirming, thanks :)

Can you send me a link to the review thread?

Lauren Kennedy (laurenxo) Do you have to review all the books you read for this challenge?

The challenge doesn't start until Wednesday, so only books you read after then will count.

message 70: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments what would Earthbound (Earthbound, #1) by Aprilynne Pike be considered?

message 71: by Elizabeth Emily (new)

Elizabeth Emily Browne (snakesandladderrs) | 2186 comments I'm in, I've decided to start doing challenges and this will be my first one:) great idea btw it's gonna be great:) x

message 72: by Elizabeth Emily (new)

Elizabeth Emily Browne (snakesandladderrs) | 2186 comments Btw what is mutiple POV? x

message 73: by Tati (new)

Tati @Christina, if you buddy read a book, you and your partner can tick off different boxes.

@ Elizabeth, multiple POVs is when the book is told in different POVs. For example, the first chapter is narrated by one character, and the second by another one.

Christina | 4293 comments Yay thanks Tatiana. Also is Daughter of Smoke and Bone considered purple?'

Edition: Published September 29th 2011 by Hodder & Stoughton
UK, Hardcover

message 75: by Mei (new)

Mei (meijey) | 3810 comments Christina, you can only use a book once. So if you enter it for paranormal, it can no longer be used for more than 350 pages. You have to find another book that falls under that category. :)

Christina | 4293 comments Mei wrote: "Christina, you can only use a book once. So if you enter it for paranormal, it can no longer be used for more than 350 pages. You have to find another book that falls under that category. :)"

Yup, I was asking if my buddy can use the book for a different block/category than me.

Getting pumped for this challenge!

message 77: by Mei (new)

Mei (meijey) | 3810 comments Oh, you mean your partner in your buddy read? He/she is not your partner for the challenge. Participants will play individually, if that's what you mean.

message 78: by Mei (last edited Jan 06, 2014 01:12AM) (new)

Mei (meijey) | 3810 comments Lauren wrote: "Do you have to review all the books you read for this challenge?"

Lauren, the group requires you write a review for the book, it's a proof that you actually read the book. It doesn't have to be long, just a short paragraph of what the book is about, what you liked or hated, basically what you think about it. If you cannot write a review, the group also allows you to update your reading progress at least 4 times. It has to be detailed for it to count. If you've done 4 updates, then you don't have to write a review anymore. But if you write one even with updates, that's okay as well.

You don't have to read ALL books, just the amount of books that you can manage. Even one book counts. :) Hope that's cleared!

Yes you can. It doesn't matter if your buddy reader uses the book for a different square, as long as it counts for the square you want to use it for thats fine. So like you say, if your partner wants to use it for over 350 pages, and you want to use it as paranormal that is fine ☺

You need to review or make detailed updates like Mei says, its just so that we can know that you've actually read the book ☺

Heather wrote: "what would Earthbound (Earthbound, #1) by Aprilynne Pike be considered?"

Earthbound would count for Paranormal, or first in series, or published in 2013, or people on cover, and I think the british cover - Earthbound (Earthbound, #1) by Aprilynne Pike would possibly count for 'flower on cover' or 'purple cover'.
You could only use it for 1 of those squares though not all of them.
Abbie will confirm ☺
