I loved Angelfall when I read it! The action/suspense begins right away and I enjoyed that "unputdownable" feeling I tend to get when I am engrossed in a story. I thought Penryn is a good lead character; she's a great problem solver and I admired her loyalty and perseverance. The story is a mixture of action, suspense, and horror, with some humor here and there to lighten the subject matter. Looking forward to reading this one again!
I'm looking forward to this one, too. I've been meaning to read it for just about forever and have heard so many good things about it.
It's SO GOOD!!! The sequel was decent too, but I preferred the first book :) I agree with Jennifer, it has a nice mix, but wow does it have some horror!
I decided to try joining in on some of the group reads this year and chose Angelfall to start. Started it today, just finished. Absolutely loved it! As I said in my review, it's like a bit of the current season of Supernatural mixed with The Walking Dead, with a special twisted sense of darkness all its own. And yet, still hopeful. It was horrific and fanfreakingtastic. Great pick! I would have missed it without this group. :)I just downloaded the sequels to iBooks. Can't wait to see what happens next.

As I said in my review, it's like a bit of the c..."That's a great comparison, definitely has enough horror/gore to be compared to TWD and yet still retain it's YA feel. And I couldn't agree more about how many incredible reads I find because of this Goodreads group and others like it :)
I love that while Penryn recognized that her mom is a bit nuts, she still tries to support her in any way she can. I appreciated the family loyalty theme with her mom and sister.
Just finished the next in the series! (It helps that we're pretty much snowed in at the moment.) Now I'm in that place of utter torment as I await the release of the rest of the series, so that I may devour it. And I saw that Sam Raimi has optioned the film rights! This is perfect material for a movie.
So here's my dilemma...I loved this, but I'm not sure I want to read the next. Lori you loved it, but has anyone else read it? What did you think? The description isn't all that captivating to me, and honestly I just want more Penryn and Raffie - I couldn't care less about the sister.
Hmm, well I did enjoy the sequel, but not nearly as much as the first book. You won't get nearly as much Penryn and Raffie in the sequel and the sister is very important to the second book, so... I don't want to dissuade you though, because it was a good book. You could always wait a while and think about it since the third book won't be out for a long time :)
I liked World After - a lot of questions are answered from book 1 and there is some major set up for book 3, but it’s not a “filler book” although I realize I kind of made it sound like one. Like David said, the sister is very important in World After as she is pretty crucial in the storybuilding. There's an interesting element in World After that gives you some of Angelfall's Penryn and Raffie but unfortunately it's not anything like what Angelfall itself offered. There is a lot going on in the last quarter and like Lori mentioned will likely leave you in "utter torment" lol- but unfortunately we have to wait... If you're preoccupied with Angelfall's cliffhanger then read World After now. It sounds like that's not the case so you can probably get by with reading World After later on or even back to back with the third book when it comes out (it's still untitled though).
Thanks, that's helpful. I think I will wait on it for now and maybe read it later in the year :)
So I read the sample of After World from Amazon and realized I can borrow the book free from Amazon Prime through February 1, so I decided to go ahead and read it :)

I'm glad I read After World. I enjoyed it as much as the first book. I love the authors writing style, and her characters are a lot of fun. I can't wait for the next book.
Angel Fall has a really nice story plot and what i like is the chemistry that exists between Raffe and penyrn.. Its like it is there and not there sort ...Can't wait to read World After... As said by many, Susan Ee's writing makes it just perfect..
this book has a lot of high praise from my friends. i was thinking that i had a found an all new all time favorite ya dystopia series. i got a mediocre book that i barely wanted to finish. i'm content with what i read, i don't need to read anymore.
Heads up! Angelfall is in development for possible film adaptation. See below...https://www.goodreads.com/questions/3...

Happy reading!
