Victoria (vicki_c) | 367 comments When I looked at the book's page, Linda, it shows as it included on a list called "Books Recommended by The Daily Show". Do you watch John Stewart?

Or if you're an NPR listener, it got lots of air time on several shows that Rakoff contributed to. Particularly This American Life.

Sandy Inspired by Michael's recommendation I just listened to "How to Train Your Dragon" while doing errands and housework - a great way to make the time pass enjoyably - I have already downloaded the next in the series and request the 3rd and 4th. Thanks.

Cindy (cwsmith) | 104 comments Plowing my way through The Luminaries by Eleanor Catton The Luminaries. I can't say I love it, but I can't quit reading it. About at the half-way point. Let's see what comes next.

Sue | 415 comments I finally finished The Goldfinchwhich I loved, despite the philosophical lecture of an ending. I'm awed by the breadth and depth of Donna Tartt's knowledge, not just of history and facts and subjects, but of the inner workings of so many different types of people - young, old, male, female, wealthy, poor, criminal, etc. Plus, great, page-turning story. I also finished listening to A Fine Balance A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry - great narration by John Lee of a relentless, bleak, despairing epic of India under Indira Ghandi in the 70's. A sweep of tragic history told through the eyes or compelling, ordinary characters. I've started The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman The Ocean at the End of the Laneand will start listening to Stoner Stoner by John Edward Williams next week when my next Audible credit becomes available.

I just started Rachel Joyce's newest book Perfect. It's a little slow going early, but I'm hoping it picks up.

Dawn | 187 comments January has been a big reading month for me. And I'm going out on a great note, reading The Golden Notebook by Doris Lessing - which I'm enjoying very much, but feels like slow-going after I whipped through The Name of the Wind (The Kingkiller Chronicle, #1) by Patrick Rothfuss in just a few days last weekend.

Nod.

I was always afraid that Theodore's fate was going to be similar as long as he hung around with Boris.

Victoria (vicki_c) | 367 comments Oh I've already gotten my first Bookriot box! It's fun, the book was Lexicon. I have been a subscriber to Powell's Indiespensibles for a few years and I love that so I wanted to check out Bookriot's as well.
