Moving from VA to Bloodlines

I have this problem, I love VA with all my heart. One of my all time favorites, so you´d think I would´ve read all the bloodline books by now right?
Not the case, you see it feels like if I read them it´s like cheating on VA or Rose it sounds dumb but oh well.
I wanted to ask if the series is really great and also if this happened to any of you?

After reading VA I read bloodlines, and I like bloodlines better. For starters you get Adrain :) and Sydney Sage is pure amazing.

I have to say VA is one of my favorite series ever. It depends on your taste. after i read bloodlines i was disappointed because i really hated the change from Rose to Sydney, I just dislike Sydney and her actions a lot. i loved Rose so much and i just couldnt at all like sydney let alone finish the books. so after i made sure im done with golden lily i put the series aside completely and moved on. It's just that i dont think a fun kick ass character like Rose could ever be compared to boring old goody two shoes Sydney. I generally dislike goody two shoes so that is one of the reasons i couldn't cope with sydney.
I definitely adored VA but hated bloodlines very much.

Sarbi Me too! Have you seen the movie, I haven´t because it´s not out yet where I live. Apparantly it´s not getting too much love.

I think to bloodlines thers two normal reactions.
1.those who are sad to see rose go and waits a while to read bloodlines.
2. those who are sad but want more from the world.and dives into bloodlines.

I got bloodlines the same year as it came out.devoured it and fangirl about bloodlines as much as I do about va now.
For me it helped that thers few new characters, eddie, sydney, adrian, jill. they are all familiar charcters from va. and I like the change of setting. that bloodlines is set in a human world.

but if youre very unsure if you want to read bloodlines yet. thers no rule against waiting. in a way waiting a bit might be smart, since 4 of 6 books are out.if you wait a year you could read the whole series at once without having to wait for the next book. I love marathoning books.
+ thers lots of books out there that have a va feeling to them. you could read them in the mean time.

Don't read Bloodlines. I hated the books. I couldn't finish the series. I don't like Sydney at all. Her character just bothers me. I don't recommend it but that is my opinion and if you feel like you need to read the series go for it.

I like Bloodlines. I love Adrian. Sydney isn't my favorite character but the story is still good.

im exactly the same,i love the series and i put off reading the series until my friend made me get her copies, i havent read it yet the series yet but i have heard good things.

I love both of the series. Like Rose in VA, Sydney's character definitely changes throughout the series and she becomes stronger and more understanding.

I was happy to see the story (although a different line of it) continue. It reminds me of Infernal Devices after Mortal Instruments, it just adds to the depth of the stories. Does anyone know if she is going to continue the VA series, she can so do at least one more book. I felt it dropped off.

I felt the same way when I started Bloodlines, but I fell it love with the series and I liked it better then VA.

I like Bloodlines, not as much as VA but I do like it a lot. I have to sympathise with Sydney. Don't really see how you're cheating since Rose and Dimitri are actually in Bloodlines.
