I loved it! I was kind of surprised because when I book gets so much hype, I sometimes am disappointed once I read it. I had passed it up before also because I thought "Oh no, another Holocaust story"...But I truly loved it! I liked all of the characters, even the more unfriendly ones. I like that Death was the narrator too. I gave it an interesting perspective on it. And even though it didn't have a "happy ending" I still liked it because for the Holocaust victims and even local towns people there wasn't a happy ending. What did you think of it?

Death as the narrator was very interesting, especially for a Holocaust book, but it was done very well. I know what you mean about the hype though, that is so disappointing! I am planning on reading more by Markus Zusak in the near future! :-)
Hi Kelley - what did you think of The All-Girl Filling Station? I have this book, but I just haven't heard much about it.Thanks!

Hi Melody! I really liked it. I love the off beat characters that Fannie Flagg comes up with. I really enjoyed the story line and how she would go back and forth between this time period and the World War II era. Have you read any of her other books? I believe I have read all of them. "Welcome to the World Baby Girl" was probably my favorite because I never even saw the plot twist coming on that one!
Thanks - great recommendations. I haven't read her books yet - just collecting right now.... These challenges kind of force me to actually read the books I have.

I have tons but I seem to devote more effort to library books or ones I borrow from Friends.
