I didn't even get to finish it and I really dislike not finishing books, but this one I found too annoying. I hated Hazel, her attitude, everything. What I found most irritating is that I had to read about how Augustus had really blue eyes about 5 times(maybe I'm exaggerating a bit here, or not, I can't really remember) in 2 pages. The plot was weak, the characters were annoying. I honestly would have set that book on fire if it weren't borrowed.

I agree. This book was way too hyped up. I didn't like Hazel. Makes the book hard to get through. I agree with a lot of the other opinions too.

YA degrades your English anyways (junk food lit), so whoever said 'reviewing/writing a thing about it'; please, it's not a Proust book. I'd have had a fraction of respect for you, if you defended your hatred 'this far' towards, let's say 'Rebecca' or 'Jane Eyre'...Showing concerns about literature through TFiOS, isn't a good look..
That being said, still, most of the points some of you pathetically made, my god, it's derogatory to common sense let alone ratiocination..Makes me mad some of you are 20+ (and still a consumer); shit one you hags is almost 30! who thinks any guy who likes this book and posts here is John Green? wtf?
And stop with the tampon throwing; I'm almost buried and red for nothing..sheesh..you fake, imperious dolts. Your absurd monomania seems fabricated, covert attention *****s; quit being butthurt and hostile for every comment that doesn't heil hitler with you in unison...
Aly, go munch another bag of ***ks, may ameliorate your potty mouth (with your next profanity laced reply attempt..)
(Wear that tinfoil back and report yourselves for being astronomically dumb, arrogant..)

(Retaliate while saying my name more than 3 times and I may come back again lol)

@Aly, ignore the noise. You're awesome and have great taste and shouldn't let little men with inferiority complexes get to you. Those who turn personal never have a constructive argument. Since Som started personal, I'd imagine it's because he has nothing of relevance or consequence to say.

I find it incredibly hilarious that you still haven't realised that.....

I only read TFiOS because I wanted to find out what that goddamn "Okay? Okay" thing was all about.

I am most definitely not saying this is the worst book out there. I was disappointed but not overly. It is a nice book to curl up with.

I did get it. I can understand English- very well thank you, But it's still shit.

Fair enough, there are those who like this book, and I don't blame them, because..."

It shows how cancer patients really feel. They're brave kids trying to do what they can.
Give me one reason why this book ISN'T good. I can give you many.

Fair enough, there are those who like this book, and I don't blam..."
His writing is awful, the characters are dull, it doesn't portray the hardships of cancer aptly, it's predictable, extremely clichè, and it's not thought provoking in any way or form.
Need any more reasons?

Does it? Or does it mean JG can't yank our chain? Some people just don't cry at books.
But I'm very sorry it's your favourite book as well.

LOL!

I liked the book, but I don't really get all the hype about it myself.
As much as I liked it when I read it, it's not one of his best books.
It just happens to cover a topic everyone is super sensitive on so they think if someone doesn't like it they're evil. (Which I do not believe at all.)
Sorry to burst bubbles, but it's just a book.
Yes, words can move the soul. But at the end of the day, it's just a book. To be perceived in many different ways. So, love it or hate it, it's no reason to insult people over.

Seriously? You came to page 46 of a thread listing the numerous ways in which people have found faults in The Fault in Our Stars (haha) and you ask someone to give you one reason? Can't decide if laziness or idiocy, my friend.

If you ever said that to me in person, I'd probably bash you against a wall twice. I'm not hating on you, but wow, holy mother of g was that an angry opinion. I personally feel this way about Paper Towns. One of the worst books I've ever in my life bothered to read. It was so boring, I, like you, got angry and shoved it on my book shelf to collect dust.
TFIOS however was one of the best books I have ever read. I just don't understand how an author can write a magnificent book like this, to writing Paper Towns... haha :p

How is that not hating,..."
idk lol

We don't care if you like the book. You liking the book won't change anyone's opinions. Why do you comment about how much you love the book when no one else here gives a shit, I don't know.
This is a forum for people who did not like the book. Please respect that.
Emma- that's so rude and very much considered "hating". Would you find it hateful if I told you that I wanted to shove you into a wall because you liked The Fault in Our Stars? Yes? Alright then. No one here has been disrespectful towards you because you do like the book, and this is a thread full of people who do not like the book. You don't need to be rude.
Aly∞ wrote: "@Matilda: I'm going to agree with both your comments because they are spot on. The hype is misleading. I think I saw more TFIOS references on Tumblr than any other book ever. Because it's "Indie" a..."

Actually, you've got the wrong impression. You've misheard me. I wasn't intending to be rude. I was simply saying what I thought - and I don't care if you don't like the book. I really, really don't. 'Everyone has their own opinions' right? Okay? Okay.

Yes

And ugh, 'most amazing love story'. When did they fall in love again? I saw Hazel using Gus for his wish and Gus using Hazel so he didn't have to be alone but last I checked, you don't use the people you love.
