Ella Can I just say Ayesha that I chose not to reply because I don't want to get involved in some petty argument, it's obvious you don't really know what's worth reading by your annoying characters shelf as most of these books are world best-sellers (for a reason)! Please don't reply to me as I don't have time for this argument as it's pointless and immature, I respect your opinion that you hate TFIOS but you don't have to make a war against everyone that likes it people have different tastes and you should respect that. Thank you for taking the time to read this as it seems that you have such exciting life's if you have time to argue with every person that doesn't have the same opinion as you.

Ella I think I've made my point, I'm not going to argue with you.

Elisabijtje I had so much expectations about this book! And afterwards, I was like "Okay." I didn't even shed a tear. Not one! I'm glad I'm not the only one.

If you really want to read a good book that has quite the same story line but WAY better - please read Turks Fruit (translated Turkish delight) from Jan Wolkers. That book is a classic lovestory that really made me burst into tears. That book has it all: it's beautifully written, it's challenging, it's great.

Apparently I did, yes. I never said that I hated the book. It was all the commotion around the book that made me think that this was "the book that would totally change my view on the whole world and leave me broken with tears running down my cheeks 24/7 while reading it." And that's the part I really, really disliked about it because that never happened.
The whole book was okay.

message 1522: by Sara (new) - rated it 2 stars

Sara @Lisa: Who cares if this forum makes TFIOS more popular? If more people read it then some will like it and some will hate it. The goal of this discussion is not to make people stray away from this book or hate this book it's for people who didn't like it to talk about why they didn't.

Really? You come here and shove your opinions down our throats and suggest that we are wrong to hate this book shows me how much you respect other's opinions. I have a lovely life, thank you very much and I have 0 interest in arguing with narrow minded, hypocritical trolls like you . If you can fangirl over this book then I get the rights to express my dislike over it as I wish. I have never argued with anyone with differing opinions, all I'm doing is defending me and Aly from dogmatic fangirls like you. Go read more books and improve your critical thinking skills. Thanks!

message 1524: by Sara (new) - rated it 2 stars

Sara @Som: lmao! What is your goal exactly? Are you having a boring Sunday? Is that why you came here intentionally looking for a fight or do love TFIOS/John Green so much that you find it your duty to defend it/him by any means necessary? You look so ridiculous right now haha.

message 1525: by Emily (new) - rated it 2 stars

Emily OH MY GOD. it's funny that people think can give hate to those who don't like the book, but we can't hate on those who did enjoy the book.

@Ella- you said in one of your posts that Siobhan didn't like TFiOS because it's YA and aimed at teenagers. First thing- YA can be enjoyed by any age group. Young Adult just means that the protagonists are teenagers. Second thing- If you still really think that this book is only for teenagers, I'll let you know that I did not like this book at all. I gave it 3 stars so that my friends don't stab me for not liking it and giving it 1 star.

Sheesh Aly, you've been here since the first page...liar, it's not 3 months..

Of course you rated it 5 stars. You're one of those sad losers who probably cried over Hazel and Augustus who, may I say, are the most annoying characters I have ever had the misfortune to come across in a book.
Wah, wah, wah, keep whining about your precious Tfios and how it changed your perspective of life and how much it means to you, and anyone who doesn't like it is heartless.
Please, I've heard it all before.

message 1531: by Sara (new) - rated it 2 stars

Sara Som, sweetie, you act like we dedicate our lives to hating John Green and TFIOS. I don't care that much about him nor do I think about this book on a daily basis. Even if I did, why does it matter to you? Why do you care so much if people are active on this discussion? Your life must be truly pathetic if you're able to spend hours on this thread and tell people that "spend their lives hating TFIOS" to get a life. Go ask yourself what's missing in your life instead of starting a pointless argument on the internet.

Nimotalai, I highly doubt you got any attention when you were a kid. Either that or you just jumped on the hating bandwagon without even reading it. Siobhan OMFG, just came back to this thread wondering how it had like, 60+ messages and half of them are from John Green in disguise (guessing that's who you really are, Som?) saying he's disgruntled with a hate thread being the most active … all the while making this thread more active.

Dying with laughter over the unintended irony of 'this thread is too long' *repeat for the next five messages with nothing of value to add*

But hey, other people who wish to discuss the ridiculousness of the book! Hello, people with an eye for analysing literature!

Sillypanda46 i totally respect your opinion, but personally i love the book i was a bit disappointed by the end but i think that the plot is great and it kinda makes you appreciate life and the things that you take for granted

Jennifer Miller I find your review to be better than the book! I didn't enjoy this book..was pretty pissed I spent 5 bucks on it actually. I can only pray the movie adaption is better. Usually Hollywood takes books we love and makes them into movies we hate so maybe just maybe this time it will be books we hate into movies we love.

I would definitely believe that @Som is John Green. His voice is so distinct through all his writing, there's no way to hide the sarcastic pretentious asshole in him. I would love the fact to be revealed so the general opinion of him could be reestablished outside of the rose-tinted hype. Same for Mitch Albom. *My opinions are based only on my reading of the published work of the authors, not personal interaction.
