I love Evie's sense of humor. She's not gloomy. I've grown tired of sad teenagers in Ya books. And the characters are so colorful. Literally colorful sometimes. I'm really liking this.

38% (view spoiler)[ Okay. Evie. She's awesome. She loves high school drama. Easton Heights. I love it when they talk about the plot of that show. So stupid. So accurate. Just hilarious. I love her room too. I want her room! Hehe. She's somewhat upbeat considering how complicated her life is becoming. I like that.

The fact that I found a quote I liked for every update just proves how much I LOVE the writing. Here's one more:

46% (view spoiler)[ I really like Lend. His name is stupid though. I finally got a grasp on what he looks like. I was having trouble imagining that at the beginning. You can sense his insecurity about what he looks like. He thinks girls will only like whatever shape he takes without liking him. He's fascinated that Evie can see what he really looks like. He seems to be trying different "looks" on her trying to see what she's reacting to. But she doesn't seem to care much about that.

I'm really curious about what he is and also what she is. She can never look herself in the eyes to find out. What about a photo? Would that work? This got very interesting.

ok, it's official: i absolutely HATE the fact that i'm reading this book tranlated on croatian and not on it's original english. because can not connect with this story at all i just think u could translate this sentence bettwr or how better it must sound on english. god!
but since i own it on croatian i will finish it that way.

I felt really bad too. I liked her a lot. But that scene when "fire girl" was in the building was so intense, it felt like I was running lol
Loved Lend's history too. I was waiting for it forever haha
I love how she manages to still be normal and worry about normal things with everything that's happening..

I just started this. So far its okay. Is it bad that the first few pages remind me of the mortal instruments? I am only 6 pages in but I got work so Ill catch up when I get off.

Courtney, at the times trough the story this book reminded me of the mortal instrents as well!

anyway, i finished this and liked it. i gave it 4 stars (actually is 3,5) because i couldn't conect with he story trough the first half of the book and because there was one specific detail i didn't like at the very end of the book. (view spoiler)[ at the end "fire girl" didn't die but she was main to be asleep forever. i mean, it's even worse then being dead, to vegetate, so . But i guess maybe un sequeles she will wake up at some point. (hide spoiler)]

I never read the Mortal Instruments so this was kind of new to me. I really liked it at the beginning too. The way it was written was new to me as well.

@Irena Really? I feel like I enjoyed the first half more than the second half. I had lots of stuff to say and write about it at first but didn't have much to say on the rest of the book. I agree with you on the ending though (view spoiler)[ I thought they'd get to bond or talk or anything! It felt like a non-end to me. I'm pretty sure she's gonna wake up at some point during the rest of the series though because otherwise this would kinda suck lol (hide spoiler)]

I really loved it though. Do you guys think I'd enjoy the Mortal Instruments now that I've read this or would it feel repetitive?

The Mortal Instruments series is amazing so far. I have only read 3 out of the 6 but its amazing.

Mira, i highly recommend the mortal instruments. i've only read first 2 though, but in my opinion it was better then this one. i got really attached to some characters. even the bad one.
i've heard the third one is the best in the series so i hope i'll read it soon.

and yeah, about Evie (view spoiler)[i really don't know what to say. i guess i didn't pay much attention on her crying. i mean, i know she missed a lot in her life and get that.
but yeah, sometimes she would act kinda childish, but then again, she's only 16. i like serious characters, but too serious can be unbelievable for someone who is in their puberty. (hide spoiler)]
