Finally I have finished 5 chapters. LOL

Since this is my first time having anything to do with Harry Potter books (never see any movies), I am just having such fun! Of course the entire world is new to me, the fun character's names, who is who and who does what.

Hagrid (view spoiler)[I love him! He seems like a gentle giant to me. I want to find out more about why he was expelled or exactly what he is and is not allowed to do at Hogwarts. (hide spoiler)]

Harry (view spoiler)[I feel sorry for him still that he had no clue about his parents and that he's been lied to his entire life. Personally I believe that the truth always prevails, even if it's hurtful at times. His aunt and uncle had no right to keep so much from him. I love how he's respected by so many and how everyone is in awe of him, yet he knows nothing of why really. I can't wait to see how this all unfolds. I have a feeling that the boy he met in the wand shop is going to be trouble for Harry. (hide spoiler)]

I'm finally within 60 pages of being finished...long month!

I am loving it. I didn't expect to cry reading this book, but when (view spoiler)[ Harry had the cloak and looked in the Big Mirror and saw his family waving at him, it brought me to tears. Imagine seeing your family members for the first time EVER!! (hide spoiler)]

Okay, I got my book finished and to the library. OMG it was SO fun! I absolutely LOVED it! 5 stars all the way for me.

I loved how it ended, too, except that (view spoiler)[now he's going back "home" for the summer. OUCH! But I have a feeling now it's payback time for Dudley! (hide spoiler)]

I had NO idea what the Sorcerer's Stone was until today. I was surprised at the twist too that (view spoiler)[ it wasn't Snape who wanted to kill Harry and he was trying to save him. Ironic that Harry's dad saved Snape. (hide spoiler)]

I'm so glad I am finally reading this series.

Interesting HP fact....

Book 1 is call Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in most countries and was originally published as this. I think the USA is one of the few that changed the title to the Sorcerer's Stone.

Really? That's an interesting fact. Leave it to America! The librarian gave me a website today that she said the author set up with lots of extra facts, so when yearbook pages are COMPLETELY SUBMITTED I'm going to check it out!

Mandiann, do you recall if there was ever a thread actually made for book 2? I don't see one and I don't think I created one yet.

We had talked about March 12 but obviously I never got to that point in my reading. Do you want to set up a BR date now for book 2? We have April 4 set for book 3. I could easily get book 2 quickly this time.

What does everyone want to do? Should we try to get book 2 read and stick with April 4 for book 3, or would you rather read book 2 on April 4 and move book 3? I haven't made any threads yet...I don't think. LOL

On one of the fan sites I'm a member of I'm in Hufflepuff. Then on Pottermore (the interactive site), I'm also in Hufflepuff. So I'm a Hufflepuff all around. LOL.


Ah yes. The whole Snape and Harry's dad thing. You find out A LOT more later.

If you cried in this one, wait til book 7. I started crying at the beginning and didn't stop.
