Angelfall won the poll, just barely.
I am going to keep with last months tradition of only one post for the discussion. Please be respectful of others who have not read it before posting your comments. USE THE SPOILER TAGS, they are there for a reason. If you don't know how to use them ask.
If this plan doesn't work out I will go back to the one book split up in 3 parts (but really it is a lot more work and more for you all to keep track of)
You can say things like the conversation in chapter two was mind blowing. But don't post that side-character-joe-schmoe dies in chapter two. Please just use common sense and not ruin it for someone else.
I'll see if I can come up with some discussion questions, but don't be shy feel free to start discussing. Just be sure to note at the top of your post where your at in your reading.

Love this book! I can't wait to hear what others have to say about AngelfallEdit to add a question so Dawn didn't have to think of all of them:
1) Do you feel like this book is different than the usual YA angel books? If so, why?
Ah, I've had this on my TBR forever. Guess it just got moved up!Edit: I just noticed it's the January book of the month for, like, four different groups. Guess great minds really do think alike.
This is one of my favorite books ever! Loved it! Well enjoy the discussion. And book was really good too. This is such an overall great story.
This sounds like a great book to start off the year with:)! It sounds more adult than YA though, excited either way.
So I've just finished chapter 24. Not hating it so far, but still kind of waiting for something a bit more than 'we did this and then I did this and then this happened.' It doesn't currently feel like it's heading anywhere. I'm sure it actually is, but it doesn't feel like it yet. Does that makes sense?
I'm going to re-read this one for the month! I liked it a lot at the time, and am curious if I'll appreciate it more with another run through.
Lanie wrote: "I just finished reading this book and the beginning is a bit boring, but holy crap is it amazing!"What did you think of the (view spoiler) at the end? That was a definite WTF moment for me!
The second book read the same way for me: slow at the start but then it got good at the end.
Okay, that part totally freaked me out. Lol, I was like "oh my god"! I think it was unneeded. Did you like the second book?
I liked the second book, but not as much as I enjoyed the first. For me the interaction between Penryn and Raffe (love their witty dialogue!) is the best part of the series and it takes awhile to get to it in book two.I think you can download it from the Kindle Readers Lending Library if you don't want to invest the $ in a copy.
Aw, that sucks:(! So it's just as slow going as the first it sounds like. So Raffe and Penryn are like further apart now, like compared to the first?Once I get my Kindle I'm definitely going to read that!
I have to keep reminding myself that this series isn't PNR but UF... so the romance is there, but it isn't the focus. It's more about functioning in the dystopia and that plays a large part in book two. (view spoiler)But there are definitely some "awww" moments, too!
You have a huge point there! I keep forgetting this series is in the YA genre as well. I'm reading too many romances, lol. There are a lot of sweet moments in the book, it's definitely cute. The author should have taken this series a step further in my opinion and put into the PNR genre, it would have been phenomenal.
Lanie wrote: "So Raffe and Penryn are like further apart now, like compared to the first?"From what I understand Raffe isn't in the second very much, or at least with Penryn.
Lol about the YA genre. I bought the book for my brother's classroom (he teaches sixth grade) and sent it to him before I read it myself. I'm pretty sure I might have scarred some 11 year olds for life after that ending...It feels pretty mature for a YA book sometimes... better than the other YA angel books out there though (I'm looking at you Fallen)
And Sadie, yeah, it takes awhile for them to meet up, but once they do... (there's this scene with peanut butter, shhh)
LOL! Ya, you probably gave a bunch of 11 year olds nightmares for awhile. Atleast until they turned on there videogames=p! It does feel very mature for a YA novel, Penryn is more adult than stubborn teen in the book. Fallen, was a horrible book, no offense!
Peanutbutter?? Alright, I'm going to get this book now. lol.
I have to admit this is the first book I've read (besides Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch) that has Angels as primary characters. (Not just people with 'angel blood').I really enjoyed it and couldn't put it down but I don't think I would be ok with children reading this. Im not one to be afraid of walking home in the dark but I read that part on my way home from work and freaked myself out so bad I practically ran home from the train station :/
I thought Raffe and his sarcastic comments were hilarious though.
I ended up enjoying it more than I expected. I hadn't read a lot of books with Angels in them either. The connection and banter between them really made the book and I really liked the ending. I haven't read book 2 yet, only realizes recently that it was out, but I can't say I'm as excited about it if they spend a good portion of the book apart. Does anyone know how many books are supposes to be in this series?
I'm glad to see everyone is enjoying it. I started it, but I'm not liking it very much at all right now. Hopefully, all of your reviews are right and it means it will get better. Because right now, its only sheer force keeping me from dropping the book all together.

Good reads list 5 books, I haven't read past the first either.

I read this book last night and I have to say I really enjoyed it. Think it's a little too "teen genre" but great none the less. Looking forward to reading part two tonight.
I finished in 2 days. I like the world that is being created I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
I just read this book and was so excited to see this thread. Then I realized it was from January... Oh, well.I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It has the strong heroine, the plot, the story, the strong focus, angels (which I shamelessly dig), an apocalyptic world that I don't want to live in (which is the way it should be b/c HELLO! it's the apocalypse and not supposed to be all rainbows, sunshine and falling in love - I hate dystopian/apocalyptic worlds that don't seem so bad), a hero that is independent, a crazy mom (with extra cray-cray), and multiple layers that are hinted at but not fully revealed so that the reader has to actually work for it a bit.
I'm just bummed it's still an active series. Sucks.
This is a good book and you will enjoy the Book 2 of the series too but the Book 3 is not that good. The book covers up most of the plot holes but we never got to know the reason the angels came to the earth so i think there should be a prequel to this series writing about the reason of coming to the earth but i dont think anything else is coming because the author has cut down the originally planned 5 book series to trilogy.
