Jack Leone Was trying to figure out what Sol's initial job was that gave her her name.

Here are a few that I came up with.

Soldier - Fighter
Solemn - serious/relating to religion
Solidarity - unity
Soliloquy - speaker of ideals
Solution - she is one of the oldest people, making her one of the first solutions to the humnity problem

any one else have any ideas?

Michael Oh I have a few of my own...some of which are mentioned in the book. I think it's great that you are thinking along these lines. If I ever write another book in Hollow World I would like to explore Sol's past in more depth. There is a lot about her that intrigues me.

Esther I would love to read more about Sol. Like Ellis, I didn't want to leave her home so soon.

Caltman I loved this book and didn't want it to end! There are so many more stories that could be told about this world and the people in it! Please write more!!

Gandalfgrijs Maybe it's a latin word? Most names are latin. I will capture a dictionary at school tomorrow and look it up.
"Solidarity" synchronize with her 'god idea', with so could have picked up in her past. I'm rooting for that one.

Kiff When I read it, I was thinking solution. I was thinking she was the first step in the solution to the perfect human.

Michael Ooops...sorry haven't noticed this thread recently...

@Esther - thanks! I'm so glad you enjoyed the characters

@Caltman - thanks also...I do hope to write more in this world and with these characters. I have a few books on my plate at the moment (Finishing up my next series, then I have to write the third Riyria Chronicle), but after that I hope to return.

@Gandalfgrjs - You are close...in Roman mythology Sol is a god - the personification of the sun.

@Kiff - the name is indeed multi-faceted...and yes that is one of the things I was thinking of ;-)
