I literally wake up, get on Ask Royals, stay on for like 2 hours, have breakfast, stay on for 3 hours more, have lunch, then take a small break, then go on for like 2 hours, eat dinner, and go back on while watching TV. I HAVE NO LIFE -_-

Yeah except you spread your posts onto different groups. I just do Ask Royals and OCCASIONALLY Ask Demigods, Animation, Villains, and Percy Jackson. And now Ask Dreamers a lot too. Oh, and sometimes The Mad Tea Party. But mostly Ask Royals :)

Son of the Son of the Sea God




Percy had just swallowed a feather. He had heard about heroes flying on griffins, getting rescues by griffins, being friends with griffins; but never had he heard of or encountered one quite so bothersome. Now the job was done. The griffin was bound in chains, wimpering on the cave floor. He called for Blaze, the neon orange Phoenix who was supposed to take him home. The creature flew in the dark cave from the brilliant light of the outside world. It grasped Percy’s hands in its claws and soared back into the sky. At first Percy had been terrified of this, but Aeolus had assured him it was quite all right. Ever since that insane god of wind had been rid of the harpies, he had taken a liking to mythical birds. This griffin, which had escaped, was the most reckless one, and Percy had been given the task of defeating it. After he had defeated Gaea and created a 10-year peace for demigods all over the world, Percy was expected to be able to do anything. He gazed down at the tiny world below him, admiring the beautiful landscapes and sceneries. Flying so high reminded him of Jason. He missed Jason. Once the seven had finished their purpose, they had just gone their separate ways; except for him and Annabeth. They had gotten married three years ago. Some people said that age 24 was too early, but they had known each other for about half of their lives by then. He couldn’t wait to get home to Annabeth; but first he had to report to Aeolus that the job was done. If the god kept his promise, Percy would be given some sort of favor. That was still something he had to decide.
Blaze plopped Percy on the mountaintop, where Aeolus’ glowing sky palace lay. He walked up about a thousand marble stairs and swung open the enormous golden doors, assisted by some teenage eaglets. The air god smirked at Percy, with a condescending look that seemed to say, “What took you so long”. “The Griffin’s tied up in a cave,” Percy told him, trying to bring some sense into the lunatic staring at him, “can I have my favor now?”
He looked at Percy like he was about to laugh, but instead his white lips formed the words, “Fine, oh great and magnificent one.”
Percy rolled his eyes at the god’s mockery. He thought carefully about his decision. It couldn’t be too large of a request, or he might get nothing. After all, the deed was already done. Aeolus could just blow Percy right out the door into the streets of Chicago. “I want safety for my firstborn child.” He sounded like one of those people you hear in old stories and myths, but it was a smart request. For a demigod, the only safe places were New Rome and Half-blood Hill, and even those were run down and unreliable. Maybe if he had the protection of Aeolus, he could raise a family in Chicago.
The god put his fist on his chin in a “thinking position” and considered the offer. Percy watched the unmoving wrinkles on his mouth, which seemed as though they were carved in stone, waiting for an answer. “I suppose I could do that. As long as he stays in Chicago, your first child will be protected by the birds and the wind.” Aeolus sat there staring at the demigod with fixed hawk eyes that must’ve had about three thousand years inside them. “You may go now,” he told Percy.
So he went.



15 years later…



Waverly wished there were oceans in Chicago. On TV and in pictures, the ocean just seemed to calm him down. He wished he could go there and touch the sandy bottoms of the shallow shore; he had never left Chicago in his life. Now he was rising up and down on the blue rope swing at his neighborhood playground, which was currently empty. He loved to swing and feel the wind rushing in his face and through his light brown hair. He slowed down swinging as a chirping blue jay fluttered toward him and barely missed his legs. Waverly had never come to really love birds in particular, but they seemed to really love him.
He looked up at the darkening August sky, watching as dusk threatened to turn to night. Each star twinkled in its own area, each with its own unique color, size, and brilliance. The orange glow above the city buildings slowly turned to pink. A cool breeze blew by him, as if whispering in his ear. He looked at the bird at his feet and smiled for the first time in a while. Seventh grade had been hard. For the first time in his life, he didn’t feel like the smartest kid in the class. A+s were turning into B-s. He felt more and more tired each morning, and althought he used to love rain, the recent overload of storms in the past couple of weeks were dragging him down. The bird chirped at him as if it knew what he was thinking. It tilted its head in compassion. As the stars became more visible in the sky, Waverly’s swing stopped all together and his eyes began to droop.
As if right on cue, he heard a sweet voice come from the back porch of one of the condos behind him. “Waverly!” his mother called, “time for bed!” Waverly slowly walked back to his home and gave his mom a hug. He yawned and walked inside. “Long day, huh?” she asked him. “Yeah. It just feels like my life is really boring. Like I’m supposed to do more than just go to school everyday, come home to do homework, eat, and sleep. You and dad were always on adventures, winning battles and killing monsters. It just sounds like such a better life than mine. I mean… I’m a demigod too.” His mother looked at him with a half smile. “Waverly… your life may be a little less interesting than mine; but it is also much less dangerous. You are protected here in Chicago, safe from monsters. Be glad with the life you have… that might put a smile back on your face.”


After getting ready for bed, he walked into his room. His bed had been prepared for him and his dad was waiting to tell him a story. They might not have been very rich, but he thought his parents were some of the nicest people in the world. “Remember where we last left off?” his dad asked him, smiling. “Umm…. You had just fallen into Tartarus with mom.” “Right. So we fell for more than a week. So that we wouldn’t die, I controlled the river below us to break our fall. Unfortunately, the water was freezing and it was made of pure misery, which called us in to drown and made us want to die, literally. Together, with the ounce of energy that we had left, we made it to the surface, which wasn’t much better than the water. It was made entirely of pointy glass shards, and—“ “Are you sure you want to tell me this before I go to sleep? It’s a little upsetting…” “Well don’t you want to hear what happens?” “Well…. Yeah” Waverly sighed and kept listening.
“So, it was made of black glass. Your mom was in a lot of pain because of her broken ankle, and she had lost her dagger. None of us had any food or water and we felt so exhausted. We were shivering and bleeding, and it was hard to stand up. When we walked over to a cliff, down below we saw a stream of fire. Your mom remembered one of the million myths she had memorized about a river of fire, so we struggled down to it, each climb seeming to be slower and slower. It was hard to breathe in the cloudy, death-like air. It was like climbing a rock wall at a sports store, but with only one leg and half a lung, and with knifes instead of rubber rocks. When we made it to the edge, your mom had probably her most crazy idea yet: she drank from the fire river. It was a horrible experience for her and a terrifying experience for me. My girlfriend looked like she was in horrible pain, which was something I did not enjoy. But, surprisingly, after she nearly had a seizure, she was revived of her hunger and thirst, and felt more alive… well, as alive as you can feel in the deepest realm of the dead. I drank it too and I knew what she felt like. So, although it was momentarily painful, we had a reviver for when we felt like we were about to die: drinking lava.
Because of this, we stayed by the river’s banks as we searched for the doors of death. Remember, we were looking for those. On the way, we ran into Kelli, a vampire I had killed a couple years back, who was walking with a band of friends. Fortunately they didn’t see us. We thought they must have been headed to the doors, so, as dangerous as it was, we followed them. While we walked, monsters were everywhere, flying in the air or popping out of huge bubbles of slimey yellow pus that looked and smelled quite disturbi—“ “Elaborating a little, aren’t we?” Waverly’s mom had walked into the room, a smile playing on her lips under her gentle stormy grey eyes. No wonder my dad had fallen for her; she was beautiful even at age 42. Her curly golden blonde hair fell at her broad tan shoulders. Percy laughed as she sat down beside him. “There were some good times too,” she said to Waverly as if correcting his dad. “Like when you laughed and made the river of misery fall back, and when we hugged as we fell for nine days. There was even a time when you smiled at me, and when you laughed at Bob’s kitten—“ “We haven’t gotten there yet!” “Oh, right… sorry. You may continue.” She smiled at her husband, waiting for him to keep going as if she were his daughter too.
“Anyways, we were talking about how we could have gotten our memories wiped in the river Lethe, which I had done to a titan named Iapetus, or as I had nicknamed him once he had no memory, Bob. When the vampires noticed us and we were about to die, Bob burst out of nowhere and destroyed all of them. He had heard his name and so he jumped down to Tartarus. It was a nice save, and without that titan, you would not exist right now, Waverly. Waverly?” Percy and Annabeth looked down at their dear sleeping son. They smiled at each other, then back at him. “We did well, Annabeth.” “Yes we did. Good night Waverly.” She whispered. “Sweet dreams.” (hide spoiler)]

Yay :) The other chapters are on a different computer so I can post it later. It's quite short because I did it for NaNoWriMo (look it up if you haven't heard of it); it's only 10 chapters and 20,000 words. But, it's my first book, so... quite an accomplishment for me :)
