Ann | 273 comments Just a quick reminder-- two more days left for this month's challenge. If you want to be included in the drawing make sure your account settings are such that I can send you a message through Goodreads and post what you read this month to complete the challenge before the month is over.

The following is the list of the favorites among those I've read. Most are the winners, but a couple are the honor books:
The White Stag (1938)
Wheel on the school (1955)
Island of the Blue Dolphins (1961)
A Wrinkle in Time (1963)
Across Five Aprils (1965 honor)
The Upstairs Room (1973 honor)
After the Rain (1988 honor)
Missing May (1993)
A Year Down Yonder (2001)
Moon over Manifest (2011)

I figure you've read the last one but, in case anyone else is interested in my recomendations, I still included it.

Jenny | 112 comments I will look for White Stag and Wheel on the School and After the Rain...I haven't read any of those. Thank you for the suggestions. I love, love Across Five Aprils. My children and I are just about to start Island of the Blue Dolphins. (I have read it before but they haven't.)

alisonwonderland (Alison) | 70 comments I finished 7: An Experimental Mutiny Against Excess and am inspired to think and act in ways that are more in accordance with the teachings of Jesus. Jen Hatmaker's experiment will be with me for a long time!

Britt, Book Habitue (britt--bookhabitue) | 771 comments I read The Humming Room and several of the Beehive nominee picture books. I was trying to read/review the majority of them in January but didn't get quite as far as I wanted to.... Still, I got some done. :)

Ann | 273 comments Our January prize drawing winner was Jenny.

She was reading Newbery and Caldecott award or honor books. Her Newbery book was Swift Rivers. And some of the Caldecott award or honor books she read are: Abraham Lincoln, Animals of the Bible, Make Way for Ducklings, Andy and the Lion, They Were Strong and Good, to name a few.
