I will look for White Stag and Wheel on the School and After the Rain...I haven't read any of those. Thank you for the suggestions. I love, love Across Five Aprils. My children and I are just about to start Island of the Blue Dolphins. (I have read it before but they haven't.)

I finished 7: An Experimental Mutiny Against Excess and am inspired to think and act in ways that are more in accordance with the teachings of Jesus. Jen Hatmaker's experiment will be with me for a long time!

I read The Humming Room and several of the Beehive nominee picture books. I was trying to read/review the majority of them in January but didn't get quite as far as I wanted to.... Still, I got some done. :)

Our January prize drawing winner was Jenny.

She was reading Newbery and Caldecott award or honor books. Her Newbery book was Swift Rivers. And some of the Caldecott award or honor books she read are: Abraham Lincoln, Animals of the Bible, Make Way for Ducklings, Andy and the Lion, They Were Strong and Good, to name a few.
