ABANDONED. two boys get given a black badge by aliens and fly

Hi I remember a book I read at school but cant remember the title I remember a couple of young lads somehow aquire a black pin badge from aliens with buttons on it and they somehow use it to fly on their bikes and end up crashing into a greenhouse very vague I know! I read it in the late eighties any help appreciated thanks.

Black Suits from Outerspace perhaps? (It was also knows as Beepers From Outer Space and the beepers do have some interesting effects/abilities.) Not sure if it exactly matches, because it's been a while since I read it, but it might be your book.
