Here's the recipe. I'm psyched. I've never, repeat, never had success roasting a chicken.

Some of you might remember my turkey debacle of November past.

Let's hope tonight isn't a repeat. If it works, I'm going to be so thrilled.

This is the first time I've done it with complete focus and attention. Read: utter loving care.

If it doesn't work I'm going to be more than a little bit heartbroken.

Thanks. I'm getting excited about the gravy now.

What else is going on, you say?

Well, we're moving through all our Michael Jackson albums this evening. I'm somewhat reading Postmodern Narrative Theory and surfing 'round the net.

Do people still say that? Could one still, in our day and age, surf the 'net? Or are we beyond that now? Web 2.0 and all that?

What Im saying is:

does

internet = world wide web?

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments Poke, poke... isn't stuffing supposed to be, um, stuffed?

I hope it turns out really yummy. I made my first one last year & it was kinda hit or miss. Good but didn't turn out exactly how I planned. I guess that's what practice is for.

First bad news of the night:

It took me longer than I'd anticipated to do all the prep, so I turned off the oven for a while.

You know where this is going.

I forgot that it was off so the first hour of roasting was actually just sitting in a rapidly cooling oven.

But the gravy is looking swell so far. Kind of want to fry some hashbrowns and pour it on, seeing as how the chicken won't be ready until, oh, midnight.

A half hour since, at 325.

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments I did that the other night with my Father's Day Carrot Cake... put the timer on & everything, then came back in to check on it and it was sitting on the counter. Aw crap.

Well, at least you'll be hungry by midnight & it will taste all the better. ;)

But it was on for a long while at 350. So I'm sure it was hades in there.

Dave Russell Internet pretty much = World Wide Web these days. Nobody uses gophers or newsgroups or ftp's anymore.
