Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments Here's one I just heard.

"When Farrah Fawcett arrived at heaven, God granted her one wish. She wished for all the children to be safe. So God killed Michael Jackson."

Ba-da-boom.

Not trying to be enlightening... just giving my opinion, same as everyone else.

Richard | 347 comments I read it here first. Which is more than a little disconcerting.

Nuri (nools) | 538 comments Watching his music videos on youtube. Weird childhood flashbacks. For years I've remembered a sequence from Thriller as a bad dream. How strange to see it and realize it was an actual memory!

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments 1,500 plus CPDRC inmates of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center, Cebu, Philippines at practice! This is not the final routine, and definitely not a punishment! just a teaser.

I ♥ the man in drag. :) I hope Michael Jackson's demons can rest now. Bless his heart.

I agreed with a friend's rant about the media frenzy over this. She basically said she's "disgusted at this media Michael Jackson frenzy. It's easier to canonize a dead man than to grant a live one the benefit of the doubt, isn't it?"

Melissa | 74 comments My kids said "who is Michael Jackson?"

I'm old.

He turned into quite a wackadoodle, but in the 80's he was my idol! I found my love of dance through Michael and I thank him for that.

Sarah | 13814 comments Cosmic Sher, thanks for the joke. Now I can head Zu off at the pass. She loves to tell horribly distasteful jokes about dead celebrities. She has a thousand about Diana.

Chloe (countessofblooms) | 347 comments I love the word wackadoodle.

Am I the only person who's a bit put off by how quickly a revisionist history of Michael Jackson's already been written? I will heartily grant the man's unique gift to music, but I find it very hard to separate his genius from the fact that he was one seriously fucked-up individual who incredulously couldn't seem to comprehend just how inappropriate his behaviour towards other children quite possibly could be. I mean, a 40-year-old man sharing a bed with a child who isn't his own child?

I'm reading a lot of justifications for his behaviour in his personal life, and, frankly, I'm pretty bothered by it. For example, I love Miles Davis; truly, the man was a gifted musical genius who changed the landscape of American music in his time, but, frankly, the man in his personal life was an abusive wife-beater, a junky, a terrible, often neglectful father who left precious little to his children, and generally acted like a cunt to his peers. Again, I love his music to this day, but I can't separate the talent from the person. And no one should do that to anyone.

Lori Gus, I just posted something similar in True North, this massive switch from super-freak, to someone whose death slowed down the worldwide internet with an outpouring of eulogies portraying him as a godly icon.

I knew someone who donated her eggs waaaay back in the day. She got a HUGE sum of money for them. But she was a real PIA while she was taking the hormones required for it.

I looked into that once to pay off school loan debt. But it was about a 6 month commitment of tons of pills to take and lots of people looking at my kooter, not just the one "harvesting" sesh I had been imagining.

Meen (meendee) | 1733 comments I was totally gonna sell mine (since I'm not gonna be using them, why not?), but I'm too old now. They want young woman eggs w/very little chance of genetic abnormalities. *drat*
