Ulysses Dietz | 2004 comments The jock and the nerd. The straight guy and the -- well, what exactly is Fielding Monroe? Other reviewers have likened him to Sheldon Cooper on television's "Big Bang Theory," and I'd agree. But he's a lot nicer.

The danger of an implausible "gay for you" plotline is avoided by the careful playing out of Mick's growing awareness of his own carefully-crafted denial of his bisexuality. Easton has carefully painted all of the details that make this fast-paced novella amusing, touching, and heartfelt. There is an emotional truth in this book that gives it more power than you might expect.
