Kassandra | -1 comments Finished Daisy Miller today - a fun read and my first exposure to James.

message 202: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments Today I finished The Expats and I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. I can see this being developed into a great spy caper movie!

Kassandra | -1 comments Thanks Melissa!

message 206: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments FInishedDust today, which has been on my bookshelf for over a year! I'm happy to be finished this milestone but the book itself was very poorly done. On to the next one!

message 207: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments It does Sandy, thank you! I was starting to develop a complex about it every time I walked past the book case!

message 208: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments I just got three free books courtesy of a gift from my local bookstore. Very exciting!!!! I'm so excited to crack into these this weekend.

Horns
The Princess Bride
The Time Traveler's Wife

Brenda (aka Grandma) | 278 comments Congrats, Kassandra! I love that warm fuzzy "I got a present and it's a book I wanted!" feeling :)

message 210: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments Lol, does that mean that the movie misses things from the book Sandy?

message 211: by Renee, Mistress of the Mini-Challenge (new)

Renee M | 4789 comments Mod
I thought they were pretty close though. The movie ditched a secondary character or two and softened some of the harsher bits. I thought it was a good job, though. But, yeah, read the book first. :)

message 212: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments Will do. Thanks ladies!

message 213: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Coyle | 1557 comments Glad to here about your free books, you sooo deserve them!!!

Overbooked ✎ (kiwi_fruit) | 800 comments Lucky Kassandra, Hurray for new books!

message 215: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments Thanks Melissa ;)

message 216: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments **sigh** I'm creating a new shelf to move over the books that I wanted to read in 2014 to 2015. My squirrel syndrome has been particularly active in the last half of the year so I'm really behind! I can't wait for 2015 to start so I can feel like I'm starting with a clean slate...no guilt! :)

message 217: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments Lol, maybe you can use some factors to whittle it down Sandy? I was adding way too many to mine just now as well and decided that I had to restrict it to books that I own currently...otherwise it would never get done!

message 218: by Overbooked ✎ (new)

Overbooked ✎ (kiwi_fruit) | 800 comments I have culled my TBR quite a bit recently, by leaving on it just the books that I really really want to read and the ones that I own already but not got around to reading yet. I'm already planning my goals and fun challenges for 2015 with the objective of reducing the TBR further, can't wait for 2015!

message 219: by Becca (new)

Becca Tyler (scrappybec) | 296 comments So far, I have read 152 books this year, but my TBR list is still over 200! I don't think the TBR list got any smaller this year.

message 220: by Renee, Mistress of the Mini-Challenge (new)

Renee M | 4789 comments Mod
Lol. I think of my GR tbr as a Wishlist and add anything that intrigues me. So my tbr button reflex is completely out of control.

I guess my real tbr is the stack beside my bed. And in the living room. And on my Kindle.

Yeah. I'm hopeless.

message 221: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments I'm the same as you Renee! My hubby says my books are taking over the house...for his sake I'm trying to whittle it down but despite my best efforts the stacks just keep growing!!

message 222: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Coyle | 1557 comments I'm with you two; the book stacks are out of control and getting unmanageable. But on the other hand, when Renee comes up with another spiffy challenge, I can go on a treasure hunt. :D

message 223: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments I finished The Princess Bride today - definitely one of my favourite books. One of the few 5 stars I've given out this year.

message 224: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments 19 days left in the month and I'm calling it...I will not get to the 7 remaining books in my challenge to myself to clean out my TBR. I've moved them to my 2015 challenge and will enjoy the rest of the month/year with books I'm really looking forward to.

message 225: by Amber (new)

Amber (amberterminatorofgoodreads) The Princess Bride is an awesome book and happy reading the rest of the month Kassandra!

message 226: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments Thanks Amber - happy reading to you as well!

message 227: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments My squirrel syndrome is causing me grief, I'm in need of some therapy! I'm trying to concentrate on the books I wanted to finish this year...and I'm getting distracted with my 2015 reads. I just had to change up 2 of my challenges for next year because I'm reading ahead. Sigh! It's a good thing that I have such a huge TBR, I seem to have an endless supply of books to add to the challenges.

Total as of 12/30 - 862 pages

message 230: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments I just finished my 99th book of the year, pretty amazing considering my original goal was 65! I'll crack 100 for sure and now have to reconsider my 2015 goal of 110. Perhaps I'll leave it for a few months and see how the year starts for me.

message 231: by sonya (new)

sonya marie madden | 437 comments Kassandra, I have to sett my goal low and see how I do.

message 232: by Kassandra (new)
