Suze | 764 comments I liked 'B', but shouldn't have read it. I have a fear, almost phobic, of being buried alive, and reading something like that doesn't do my heart rate much good.

Suze | 764 comments Thanks Frenchie, it was good and I'll read the others later when I'm properly awake - not had enough caffeine yet.

Suze | 764 comments I think I've heard of the Hanbo before, probably read of it in a book somewhere.

mrbooks | 2016 comments Todays letter is J:

Jitte, in the Edo period, the Jitte was a substitute for a badge. It is a stick or club ranging in length from 12 to 24 inches in length.

The modern Jitte has a single tang or kagi. The kagi's more common use is to hook into clothing or parts of the body like the nose or mouth, or to push into joints or other weak points on the body. It also could be used to hook the thumb while holding the weapon backwards, to allow different techniques such as punches and blocks,

message 457: by Suze (new)

Suze | 764 comments Thanks mrbooks. That Jitte sounds like one evil weapon in the wrong hands.

The hanbo looks easier to handle, than the longer bo. Martial arts have never attracted me so I don't know much about them.

Lighting P-38.

The P-38 lighting is a twin engine high altitude interceptor. In 1937 The US army requested an interceptor with long range high altitude capabilities. It original design limited it turning rate and it armament was limited. It was a twin boom with a central nacelle for the pilot and weapons. Originally armed with a 30 caliber and 50 caliber machine guns, as well as a twenty millimeter cannon. It was altered to house two 50 caliber machine guns and a 20 mm and 30mm cannons. It weapons were placed in the central nacelle which allowed for more accurate shooting. It also allowed shooting from a father distance. It is the only aircraft to be in production through out the whole war.

Neolbjakchang

A Neolbjakchang, literally meaning wide blade. It's cutting edge was not on the side edge nor was it a stabbing weapon. The cutting edge was at the top which was rounded and sharpened with precision.

message 468: by Suze (new)

Suze | 764 comments Thanks mrbooks. I think Mycotoxin is the worst of weapons as we have no defense against it and probably can't see it coming.

C is for Cannibalism

Smart meat is my dining delight and I accept no substitute, after all, why restrict yourself to mundane flesh when you can consume the most treasured of delicacies?

Oh I know that people condemn cannibalism as a perversion, but what would they know? Have they filleted the skin from a choice thigh, the skin loose from being hung? How can they not realise how much sweeter the organs taste when you have looked into their eyes and seen the meat’s hopes and dreams fade to a glassy stare?

No they do not understand, but I do and I’m not alone.

I'll have a look to see if I can find it. That's if I can even remember how to turn on the TV :-)) Can you tell I hardly ever watch the thing.

message 483: by mrbooks (new)

mrbooks | 2016 comments OK. KNM stands for Nautical Mile, I know there is no K in it. But sailing terminology shortens Nautical into Knots.

And now...

D is for Defenestrate

I love the fact that there is a word that describes the act of throwing someone through a window. It makes life so much more convenient don’t you think? Yes I know, you’ll have my money by the end of the day, you promise, you swear on the lives of your children.

You might not be a man of your word, but I am.

I warned you and you still didn’t pay, so it’s time to find out if you can fly. I love it when the rich guys don’t pay, do you know why?

They always live in penthouses.
