Good one, Stephen! :)"
Well, You should take the credit for kickstarting Pixies Friday, Janie

Was looking at some Frank Black vids on yt and noticed a show from Alabama Halle, Munich.

Anybody know why it's called "Alabama" Hall? Ekel?

Let's share the credit and call it even Stephen. ;)
Television Personalities - ...And Don't the Kids Just Love It

Kudos, Ekel, I didn't know anyone else listened to this band!
Television Personalities - The Room at the Top of the Stairs
How could anyone not listen to a band with songtitles like Salvador Dali's Garden Party?

Not to mention their rendition of Pablo Picasso...

Classic. And the Re-master is high on my list.

Tamaryn - Cranekiss
Fans of My Bloody Valentine, Cocteau Twins and late 80's and early 90's "dream pop" should give this album a listen."
Thanks for the tip, Matthew! I'll check it out!
Me too! :)

One of my 2 favorite by them. The other one is Faith, though I pretty much love all their stuff.

Thanks for these lists Michael, much listening to be done. I am aware of, and very much like, about half off your "Old school"-list (Xmal Deutschland! That's a name from the past!) and I'm sure to find something among the newer stuff!
"
Thank you, Thomas. I didn't think anybody would respond for a sec there. Most of it is highly recommended, others really good stuff. There are a few I probably should've mentioned. Albums by Slowdive, a repeating shout out for The XX (especially their first album), and a few others but a lot of great stuff in there.

Cool. You just reminded me that I have been wanting to pick up To Drown A Rose EP from them for some time now. I need to revisit their entire discography :)

R.E.M. - Automatic for the People
Should be in any music lovers collection."
The favorite now is the collected demos for "Fables..." "
Sounds interesting. I'll have to check out Fables...

Best album. Ever."
I love that one to death too.

It's always a pleasure to see you, Michael. But you never told us what you're listening to.

Songs like "I Was Buried In Mount Pleasant Cemetary" are beautiful and sad. I wonder if David Gold was actually buried there in the end?

Seems the Dots often play in Hildesheim, my hometown. Haven't seen them live yet, though. You can even find a Hildesheim live recording on their Bandcamp page:

Awww, thanks Janie! Ummm, I just listened to 3 songs by Bowie;
Heroes, Sense of Doubt, Moss Garden.

Coolio. I haven't heard Viva in a while and will have to check it out soonish! :)
I think of Tocsin style-wise as somewhere between Garlands period Cocteau Twins and Darkwave.
Speaking of Darkwave, I'm sure y'all have probably heard it a zillion times but I always thought Switchblade Symphony's Serpentine Gallery was a fun one and because of the Siouxsie Sioux-type vocals a bit like Xmal Deutschland too.

God I'd love to see them.
I always hear the lyrics from Golden Dawn in my head for some reason,
"I'll be your slave, maybe you'll be my priestess. I'd live in a cave and
we'd meet where all eyes are turned away. Where we can lay, where we can
play... and forget the storm. Will you weep when I slip away... at Golden
Dawn?
I drew a star, and you drew a circle. We hid in the car, we crossed our
fingers be hurtled down the street. The fog was creeping slow, the
deathbird peeping through the window. We drove on... on and on 'til
Golden Dawn.
I read the news and you heard the sirens. We packed, then we flew to an
island which no-one else could find. Where we could hide and watch the tide
slide in at twilight. We made love... on and on 'til Golden Dawn."
SO amazing.
