Midnight - Satanic Royalty
Despite the satanic imagery and the violent sound, some Extreme Metal bands seem to have a good heart. Midnight, for example, contributed to a Fukushima benefit split, together with Toxic Holocaust:

Tamaryn - Cranekiss
Fans of My Bloody Valentine, Cocteau Twins and late 80's and early 90's "dream pop" should give this album a listen :)

Saw this band in Dublin recently; Kevin Shields of My Bloody Valentine was there and couldn't stop raving about them after the gig.

Well, that's me just listening to Gutter Twins for the rest of the night, Janie

We saw the Whigs' reunion show a couple of years ago, but enjoyed Dulli's own show at a small club even more. He was dynamic! Also, he was quite heavy. The floor shook when he walked.

Agreed, the ultimate work-out song :)
Toxic Holocaust - Evil Never Dies

Ekel, howdy. I'm the author of the Overlook Press WW1 horror thriller The Damned. Wrote most of the novel listening to Kvelertak's first album.

They're awfully young to be touring with Mastodon and Gojira.

Hello Tarn. Nice to meet you :).
Hello Tarn. Nice to meet you :).

Cool, Stephen. I could never pronounce that name.
Prong - Rude Awakening
Nunslaughter - Goat

It might sound strange, but Death Metal is actually one of my least favorite subgenres. Except for Death/Black/War Metal, there are few Death Metal bands that interest me, but Nunslaughter is one of them, and imo even the best band in the whole genre.
