Hadn't heard about that, but I also just recently checked out Magma for the first time.

I think that's because When I Die is my favourite song by GG Allin, followed by Expose Yourself to Kids and his cover of Charles Manson's Garbage Dump. As far as I know, they really put a bottle of whiskey by his side during his wake.

Why did they call him GG?
When he was born, they namend him Jesus Christ Allin at first, because of a religious vision his father had that prophesied him his son would be the new messiah. Apparently, he got the nickname "GG" because his brother mispronounced the name of Jesus this way.

Yes, I know Elderwind. I quite enjoyed the album. The split with Lustre was another matter, but I have to admit I find Lustre rather boring and annoying, and it is only on very rare occassions that I have negative feelings toward an Atmospheric Black Metal band or project.

Strangely, Branikald is the earliest Black Metal band known to me that started to use slight Shoegaze elements in its songs. Quite an unusual candidate, since the man behind the band became a white power skinhead later on.
